Aren't tacos made with corn flour? Sandwich Bread is not usually made with corn flour. Those would be cornbread.. sandwich breads are typically made with some type of wheat. so NO tacos are not sandwiches.but I do consider that hotdogs are in fact sandwiches..Lol

Hotdogs are just hotdogs because if you take the bun away, you would still call it a hotdog i.e. its referring more to the type of meat then meat+bun
It's technically put into the category of sandwiches but the meat is considered a dog...So it's just called a hot dog because they cook quickly but technically is a sandwich... Hot Dog is the name of the sandwich and I just made this all up. Thank you, good day.

Anyone who says a hot dog is a sandwich is an actual psychopath and that’s a fact
so fun fact i wrote an essay about this a month back and according to the national hot dog association and the inventor of hot dogs, no, it is not. according to the merriam webster however, it is-- apparently the hot dog is a type of sandwich. i however believe otherwise, because the hot dog is "inserted" or "wrapped" in between the bread, whereas in a sandwich, it is "sandwiched."
Moral of the story: HOTDOGS ARE DISGUSTING
Hot dogs are sandwiches because of the bread. We don't call cheeseburgers sandwiches but they are still technically a sandwich. Tacos aren't sandwiches because it is a tortilla and it can be hard or soft. The main components in sandwiches are BREAD. You can have a sandwich, like a grilled cheese, with no meat but because of the bread it's still a sandwich. We have hot dog stands just like we have places who only sell types of grilled cheese, because it is a different type of sandwich that doesn't fall in the typical burger, or lunch meat category.
Meanwhile, catch me sitting here eating a breakfast corndog... breakfast sandwich on a stick.

In the Philippines, we literally call it a hotdog sandwich if its with a bun. Hotdog is for just hotdog, the processed meat. So I was confused why this question exists. Haha

It's so simple. It's all in the construction (and possibly head angle)! Sandwiches are constructed with a base of bread, ingredients are stacked, and a bread is added (or closed on top in the case of subs or whatever you want to call it). Hot dogs are placed centrally into a split bun (innuendo) and condiments are added on and on the sides. A hot dog is eaten in this construction, it is not rotated so the buns is top/bottom, but left/right of the dog. One must often tilt one's head in order to eat a hot dog without spillage (the "Taco Tilt" commercials from Taco Bell of my youth will attest to this), but this is rarely the case for sandwiches, which can be taken straight to the face. Hence I agree that a hot dog is an American taco.
In high school I took a course nutrition and wellness, we had a chapter on sandwiches, different kinds of sandwiches. According to this book pizza, and hot dogs are sandwiches but I took this class like 5 years ago
