Man, this one hit me in the heart. She reminds me of my aunt, who is an incredibly giving person and donates more than anyone I know. Sometimes her kindness is taken of advantage of, and it makes my blood boil. Thank you guys for saving her $980,700. You dramatically changed her life for the better. The scammers don't stop after 1 success. Thank you, thank you, thank you Nicholas and *Strongwidget* on the internet team. You guys are heroes to me.

A big red flag is when someone says they love you after 2 to 4 weeks of chatting online.
How can they love you if you have not met in real life.
I was talking to a beautiful African business woman, she lived in London, England. After 2 weeks said she loved me.
She said she would visit me after closing a big business deal in Africa set to make her one hundred thousand pounds.
While she was in Africa closing the deal she had a problem and asked if I could send her £5000 or the deal would fall through.
She offered me £25,000 in return. She even dropped what she needed to £2000 as she manged to scrape together £3000.
I actually thought it was quite funny and played along for a while.

If you fell for scams already, lost your savings and suicidal... Please don't forget that it's only a start. It is humiliating to fall for the scams, cause you were emotionally vulnerable online to be manipulated. Or financially vulnerable to think this investment could make you rich too. Humiliation comes from being cheated when you were vulnerable. So, treat this as a infidelity of your partner/betrayal of your business partner. Cause that's what it is. You got cheated. It shouldn't stop your life. You can earn again, love again and live again. This time... Do it with real people you see, be with, live with. Even if they are not your "dream" partner... They're real, they're there, living with you, looking at you, not courageous to ask you, but not manipulative to scam you either. So, take that step with people you are with. ❤️✌️

That moment can never be changed, the feeling of fear, excitement, nervousness, etc makes you to transfer as long as you have money left or can arrange. More the money more time it takes to lay the foundation... Got scammed for the first time few days ago... Around 150$ which is a lot in Indian currency. I have filed complaints etc. But I know I won't get back the money.
Finally the moral of the story... Either never bet or play with money and set a limit while playing enjoying whatever you are doing online. I learned my lesson early and believe me if you think you are intelligent, educated and stuff, sorry to say but you have 100% chance of getting scammed.

Any help is better than no help at all. As some other commenters have stated, providing a safe house once you are able to find your way out is also a form of help as well. Remember, the moment you are in those compounds, your passport has been confiscated so you are really a nobody in a foreign country. You'll need a place to stay while you sort things out with the embassy when you most likely have no money on you. There was even a case where somebody managed to get their family members to pay the ransom but the organization arranged and paid for a taxi or driver to pick the person up from outside the compound. If you randomly board the closest taxi you can find, there is no guarantee they won't drive you off to a different compound to have you sold for a handsome reward. Greed runs deep in a poverty stricken place.
