This expansion so far is great. Story is rich. Zones are amazing. Hollowfall is my 2nd home besides Uldum. But there are some issues. We geared up in the memory event and we were so op until like 75ish. Why are normal dungeons so easy? I know heroics are supposed to be harder but i can tell you normal dungeons we are blowing through them in 15 mins. We completely ignore mechanics. Also in the Group Finder we should have a space for delves. I dont mind doing them on my own but as a mage id like some meat in front of me while im laying waste.
Thank you once again MrGM. I been waiting for a class option confirmation. I'm glad he said confirmed no to druid, I've been holding what to choose to level. For new characters until PTR shows who Dracthyr can be, but now I know for certain no druid. I'm off to get my night elf up :P Obviously I'd play a future Dracthyr druid anyday. Now I'm just hoping for monk! I don't like the warrior tanking rotation personally.
I'm back playing Wow after leaving the last 2 nightmare expansions after a few weeks. I am SO happy about the delves (I love them), the story mode coming for end of game story wrap up and follower dungeons! The world tier vault addition is also cool. As a predominately solo player (since early vanilla) I feel looked after finally!
I just really hope the servers will be up and steady for release after this non-sensical early access. I'm kinda positive on that department actually because I've noticed things like Ashran finnally playable after 10 years of release, and the game itself is more fluid in performance and instance-wise, so the capability seems that got increased in order to tackle the spike that is about to come. Also, this time, instead of starting short term projects like OW's, Heroes and such, just focus your personell in WoW, Diablo and you will have a safe ride. Make them better
Having Hero Talents locked to race would have been a beautiful thing or just change the name and color of abilities to match the culture of said race. Troll druids using LoA and Night Elves still using Elune or Troll Paladins using Loa and Humans using traditional Tyr Light theme
It is absolutely this. I refuse to pay $90 for a game with a subscription so I'm sitting here waiting for "actual" release while literally everyone I know is already playing. Including my husband. It's not a matter of whether it's an advantage or not (though it definitely is for anyone focused on goldmaking) it's just an icky feeling that doesn't help make launch feel good and exciting.
@xXESproductionsXx WoW is a subscription based game. The price of the basic version of the expansion is already outrageous. Trying to lure people into spending an additional 40 bucks by giving whales an unfair advantage is criminal.
Definitely took away the launch hype I usually feel. Didn't pay for it, never will but it sucks seeing others playing already and I'm still waiting to start.
I love it so much. Please, Blizzard team, please contact me so we can bring Warcraft to life as a full theme park attraction and more and beyond and the most interactive theme park ever created.
2:31 YES Dracthyr Warriors & Mage, NO Dracthyr Druids. The rest is TBD. I'm hoping that they'll announce soon if they do have Dracthyr Rogues. It's very likely since the animations have been posted online. If they are, then I'll switch my main to a Dracthyr Rogue. Finally!
Here's your feedback for early access: it just split the community on poor and rich, where the poor don't get to experience the launch with their rich friends
2:33 Ok, no druid for them, but there have been other options that should absolutely work like Vulpera, Humans, and Orcs, for example. If the philosophy has been stated that gameplay should supercede, why hasn't druid been expanded like other classes?
Odds are they'll do it all at once like they did with Warlock, and with the amount of assets druids might need, depending on how many new forms they want to add, it's probably not a terribly high priority.
Apparently Blizzard would rather have a million different forms and animations for the existing Druids than make the Druid class available for other races. For real: how many design hours must have gone into all those forms, even customised by race??
I love the answer about the hero talent lore, or lack thereof. Classes have such a distinct feel in WoW that a lot of other games struggle to match. From Blood DKs trying to outheal the healers to warriors and paladins' constant bickering, to druids constantly shapeshifting and never letting you forget that they are the most hybrid of hybrid classes. Some specs even feel extremely distinct; if you have more than one BM Hunter in a raid, give them 10 minutes of downtime, and they start comparing pets. I hope that as they get iterated on in the coming expansions, these sub-specs will feel just as distinct. Already, playing as a Diabolist feels like I've gone from summoning small random demons to pulling together the scattered remains of the Burning Legion and reforming them under me.
Please ignore the asmonglers about early access, they don’t play WoW anymore. This has been the smoothest launch of all time, thanks blizz!! Idc if you sell it or whatever but staggering the launch like this was fantastic
That's true, I haven't encountered any issues so far over the last few days. Maybe I got lucky (Australasian server with a lower population) but it seems to have been very smooth so far.
SL and DF had a smooth launch without early access, at least on EU… I dont really mind the early access, I just wish for a good expansion to get people back.
It would be nice if we could just get rid of the M+ key(the actual physical key not the M+ system). Then just make it like the delves where you walk in to the dungeon and select the difficulty you want. And yes that means deranking wont be a thing anymore. Tbh tho as a person who has done 20+ keys and up(aka 10+ and up now since the change), i don't see the point off deranking. Thats just me tho or at the very least make keys neutral so we can run the dungeon we want.
When a man has a peach fuzz when he usually shaves, its either he's really busy or his woman convinced him to grow a beard. I bet Ion is under pressure and very busy right now.
Yup, after 20 years of loyal service the original races still haven't been able to master all the classes, but hell, the newly awakened Drakthyr can tap straight into the arcane and tame creatures, because... reasons, I guess? And let's not get started about the plethora of customisation options of the newer races compared to the old ones! Do better, Blizz!!!
Early access --> actual launch vs. actual launch --> delayed access launch. Frame it how you want. Fact remains that "early access" has more or less killed the release hype that players have cherished about the release of every other previous expansion. They chose money over nurturing that magic.... or more accurately... they put that magic behind a pay wall ☠️👎
You can say that, but as someone with early access, I've run out of ways to progress & aside from being lv 80 (which only takes a few hours) I don't have any advantages. I can't unlock Earthen, I can't do heroic dungeons, I can't level my professions, I can't even do the 2nd half of the campaign quests. Personally, I'd say there's no reason from a player PoV to do early access besides you're excited to see the world. From a game Dev PoV, I'll say this: This has been the most seamless expansion launch in the game's history & it isn't even close.
@dr.zoidberg8666 my main concern is honestly A) the peak gold farming opportunities that EA players are already farming, B) spoilers, & C) just the sense of unity among the community all being in it together rather than this divide we now experience. You can say those aren't actually that big a deal, which I do see & actually agree with. However, it just leaves a bad taste in the mouth nonetheless.
They've probably been in total crunch mode for the past few months leading up to launch. It's always a stressful time for any creative entertainment studio, regardless of industry.
Yet again Ion mentions accessibility reasons, meaning he understands their precious dynamic flying has accessibility issues, but still locks it either by level or with PF.
Both AQ and Naxx catered to Ion and the other small number of top guilds. People forget how many casual guilds just stopped playing not long after AQ was released. Ion is the one who destroyed the original game and he's still there because management is too stupid to understand that nobody should have listened to him in the first place.
Please tell me I’m not alone on this, but why the F would he plant the seed of Bfa remix , like no…. Legion yes. I actually wouldn’t mind TBC or wrath even though I don’t did have it in classic , I think those are FAR better options than bfa
I have to say that someone who is in a unique position to interview the game director of World of Warcraft should have proper equipment. This is simply inexcusable. Please be better.

Always great to hear from Ion! or his vocal chords in this case lol. Still loved it!
awesome interview!
@@nzwjnot everyone bought early access kid. Just wait till launch when everyone logs in to see the real launch issues.
SL and DF had a smooth launch without early access, at least on EU… I dont really mind the early access, I just wish for a good expansion to get people back.
Why are we being locked from the earthen in early access? It better be a story issue. It wouldve been nice to unlock the race to start leveling.
Thats just me tho or at the very least make keys neutral so we can run the dungeon we want.
i know he talking about the issues being delve gear scaling unintentionally with level. I am very geared because of it
I think it's really cool that I didn't pay for early access, but got it any way.
I cant believe you uploaded this lmao
As many others have mentioned, Audio isn't doing it for me
great interview!
This is a great interview dude! Thank you for your work, and on behalf of Ion's chin, we're all sorry. xD
What does he say at 15:02 about Halondrus?
sound is really bad
Not Ion being fluent in Q*bertese
No dracthyr druid just sounds lazy AF to be honest. Helloooo, They are straight up part of the emerald dream dragons.
Ion is still the GOAT Dev interviewer in WoW always love hearing his takes
When a man has a peach fuzz when he usually shaves, its either he's really busy or his woman convinced him to grow a beard. I bet Ion is under pressure and very busy right now.
surprised they put mic there Ion is kno to make a lot head movements as he’s very expressive physicly
Don't agree with the idea that hero talents should be separated from built in class lore.
Legion remix with new artifact skins & mage tower would be amazing
If we didn’t get challenge mode in mop I doubt we will get old mage tower lol
ahhh yes dracthyr can master anything quickly but dwarf druids and other class/race combos take ages. smart answer
Thank you for the interview, but pls use another option for microphones. I don’t know why so many people use these…the sound is so aweful.
I think early access is a great idea. Bang on about splitting the server load. Its been great.
Yep 100%
Early access --> actual launch vs.
actual launch --> delayed access launch.
Frame it how you want. Fact remains that "early access" has more or less killed the release hype that players have cherished about the release of every other previous expansion.
They chose money over nurturing that magic.... or more accurately... they put that magic behind a pay wall ☠️👎
I’ll pray for you to get your financial situation under control 😂
You can say that, but as someone with early access, I've run out of ways to progress & aside from being lv 80 (which only takes a few hours) I don't have any advantages.
I can't unlock Earthen, I can't do heroic dungeons, I can't level my professions, I can't even do the 2nd half of the campaign quests.
Personally, I'd say there's no reason from a player PoV to do early access besides you're excited to see the world. From a game Dev PoV, I'll say this: This has been the most seamless expansion launch in the game's history & it isn't even close.
@minoxiis3419 don't just pray for me, pray for all the endentured servants under the thumb of the rat race 😂
However, it just leaves a bad taste in the mouth nonetheless.
hope those extra bucks was worth killing release hype
I’ll pray for you to get your financial situation under control 😂
@@minoxiis3419 keep licking the shitty multi billion company, i dont even play this shit anymore and havent since DF
It’s just a handful of gold lol everyone I know has EA just make gold if ur broke lol flip items on the AH it’s so easy to
Is it just me, or does Ion look really exhausted? Great interview though.
Probably done a lot of travelling, interviews, and communication with devs in the last few days.
He’s also growing up
They've probably been in total crunch mode for the past few months leading up to launch. It's always a stressful time for any creative entertainment studio, regardless of industry.
Probably because he's exhausted...
Dracthyr transmog would be the actual elephant in the room
Yet again Ion mentions accessibility reasons, meaning he understands their precious dynamic flying has accessibility issues, but still locks it either by level or with PF.
Both AQ and Naxx catered to Ion and the other small number of top guilds. People forget how many casual guilds just stopped playing not long after AQ was released. Ion is the one who destroyed the original game and he's still there because management is too stupid to understand that nobody should have listened to him in the first place.
0:30 my God 😂
Bro I immediately rewinded in disbelief what I just heard 🤣
Please tell me I’m not alone on this, but why the F would he plant the seed of Bfa remix , like no…. Legion yes. I actually wouldn’t mind TBC or wrath even though I don’t did have it in classic , I think those are FAR better options than bfa
Audio is really blown out.
10:14 had me dying bro
is it just me or is the audio bad?
Yeah i get a huge competetive advantage, i get reputation before anyone else, higher ilvl, proffesions before everyone else...
Someone has to play twice as much to catch up to early Access
I have to say that someone who is in a unique position to interview the game director of World of Warcraft should have proper equipment. This is simply inexcusable. Please be better.
Audio quality is bad in the video, since like Ian is under water.
do not enhance the audio to the max in Adobe pr .
I can make up my own lore for Hero talents? Sweet!
Thanks for getting us this interview Dan, you're a real one
#TeamNextRemixShouldBeLEGION Thanks MrGM for consideration
The audio gave you some fits aye
Ion traditionally puts his chin to his chest when he talks, gotta put the mic in a different spot to help the comms come through clear.
