Great question! I think both of them have different elements that make them great movies. However, I think I like The Shining just a little bit more cause it's so iconic. 😁
This was a really good sequel that actually stands on it's own. It's different of course from The Shining, but I think it captured some of the same magic and updated it. 🎩 Hat's off to Stephen King and the director and cast. Shine on
According to one article Rose the Hat is supposedly about 700 years old. The oldest of them, Grandpa Flick was a couple thousand, or so. The movie and novel are different in lots of ways. But the True Knot cult was not completely destroyed. There are other groups of them around the globe, so it's open to more stories. Though Rose's group might have been the most powerful of them.
Oh, this is interesting af. My husband is the only one out of the two of us that has read the book and saw the movie. He also says the book is pretty different.
Fun fact, Stephen Kings son, Joe Hill is also an author and his book N0S4A2, the antagonist Charlie Manx is suspiciously similar to the True Knot. In the Doctor Sleep novel Dicks grandfather mentions him by name.
Hey Kelly,I just wanted to ask you,in the scene where Rose the Hat gets killed, did you happen to notice the other ghosts that weren't present in The Shining?I know you said you haven't seen The Shining in a long time,so,you probably won't remember many of the Overlook Ghosts, but if you did notice them, could you let me know?Oh,and also,if you did see them, could you also tell how many of them did you see?
Good reaction! I also enjoyed this one! Did like this or shining more?

Way better than Shining and the books is ever better!
I've heard the book was definitely a lot different in some parts but I've never read it.

Great reaction Kelly. I love this movie alot, it's suspenseful and very entertaining. Ewan McGregor was outstanding as adult Danny.
