I was worried about you talking down to my headphones, but the review was very good. I love my Audio-Technica ATH-AP2000TI. It's such a treat when I put them on, I increase the bass on mine a little since I like electronic music. They are my prized possession having a very special place in my room. Thank you for the video.🙂
As an owner of th900 I fully agree with your opinions. They are specialized, and i can't see using them all the time. Highly energetic presentation can be fatiguing after a longer time. Although I've not heard headphones that can do what these do. I enjoy all sorts of music with those, but yeah, they might be a safe bet for geners you've mentioned . I think as a highend proudct they fit the bill.
You're right, my first >$100 headphone was the ATH-AD700X, I stuck with Audio Technica ever since. My headphone journey: ATH-AD700X, ATH-A500Z, ATH-A1000Z, ATH-A2000Z, ATH-WP900, ATH-E70, Sennheiser HD600S, HD800S, ATH-AWAS, ATH-ADX5000, ATH-LS400, ATH-CKR90. My favourites are the ADX5000, WP900 and AP2000Ti.
@@aznsensation44 It is like the HD800S in tone (mid and treble focus) but more intimate soundstage and a little bit more subbass. The issue I have with the HD800S is that everything sound so far away, especially when watching movies, playing games or listening to songs with vocals, you have to focus really hard if you want to hear the details or feel the impact of the bass. That is not the case with the ADX5000. Audio Technica always emphasise vocals, especially female vocals, ADX5000 is no exception. They put vocals in front and centre like you are in a recording booth / jazz club, while HD600S and HD800S blends them into the instrumentation like in a concert / stadium. Compared to the AP2000Ti though, the ADX5000 is definitely more neutral / conventional, its selling point is a intimate and detailed imaging open back.

For sure the AP2000Ti is amazing for electronic music

How's the adx5000? That and the AWAS are the only high end audio Technica I haven't tried yet

How would you compare the wp900 vs the 2000ti differences ?
