    I just saw this video and it is two years old. I had gotten the M1 and it ran beautiful for 5 years don’t know why it died on me but I contacted EchoTec and sent them pictures of my pump and to my surprise they are sending me a new pump M2. I do have to say this is the best customer service I’ve ever had from other companies.

    My S1 failed just after 3 years.
    Repair is only 30 EUR less compare to brand new. I love ecotech but think now I will try the new Jebao and see how that strategy goes... I still have vortech and battery back up. But happy to hear from u what u think on that strategy.

    Your so right Ryan everyone reviews items before they have even used them and it makes me wonder if they even get round to using the product 😂😂 looks like this pump has treated you well Ryan and when I need to get a better one I’ll definitely be looking into this one .... I currently use the jebao return pump and so far I haven’t had any issues 🙈

    I've had an M1 since they where available in the UK about 3 years ago. I'm about to clean it for the second time since installing it. It has never missed a beat and looks like the Chinese backup in my bottom drawer will never get used in fact it needs more maintenance than the running Vectra! The calibration and feed mode are brilliant as to are the different formats this pump can be used for out of the box. Build is bullet proof which is evident in the materials used in the controller. As for the capacity, it can pump far more than it says on the spec sheet. It is the most reliable bit of kit in my tank by far.

    Hey! Would you ever touch on nano tanks? I own a 20g currently (downed from a 90), and would like to know what else I can do equipment, and filtration wise. I feel like I can do more. Really thinking of a mini sump for my flame algae too or for extra filtration

    Hey there. Did you hard or soft plumb the connection to your return? I'm looking at soft plumbing but early research reveals the adapters are not included, and the ones for sale online don't fit the pump and require gluing and sanding. I'm thinking about easy maintenance down the road...

    • @PrestigeReef
      @PrestigeReef  5 лет назад

      I used a mixture of soft and hard plumbing, its soft plumbing attached to the pump though

    When you get Ecotech pump you can dump your heater, these run ridiculous hot. And my Vectra had melted down after 2 years, got it replaced by Ecotech but the new one was also heating up the tank. Switched to Red Dragon Speedy and no more problems with temps. Ecotech is very overrated. I had also Radion lights, had to replace fucking fans at least once a year, programming was faulty, I dumped them once I saw that they glow red in the night and no reset or calibration helped. Ecotech is another company that designs their toys on computers screen and releases them without real life testing.

    Well i don't think any pumps like that are worth it. As simply they warm up your aquarium water which is not good in the summer, as it relies on water to cool it down, not good for the motor. Where as i bought blue line aqua HD pumps, they are better quality made and not prominent to braking, plus they don't heat up your aquarium water, and they don't get hot, due to the air fan. Plus i noticed that my aquarium was more stable with the temperature, and have never had to clean it. Plus people who say no noise, yay, well there just thinking about their own selves. So the blue line aqua HD pumps are 100% better, and not dear just because of a top brand name. So their the best pumps i find.

    Not worth the hype or price. They are good but not that good. First - they raise water temperature in your tank, second - they melt after 2-3 years, ecotech replaces them, but still... this should not happen... Ecotech fanboys love them :)
