J'ai l'habitude de voir passer au dessus de ma tête des ULM, mais de voir voler ces répliques de vieux engins datant de 1910 sur RUclips me réconforte sur le peu de progrès accompli depuis. Bravo les pionniers de l'aviation !!!
Translation : Used to seeing microlights flying over my head, but seeing these replicas of old machines from 1910 flying on RUclips comforts me on how little progress has been made since then. Congratulations to the pioneers of aviation!!!
I think it was 1983 when I spent a joyous day at the shuttleworth collection. This brigs back such memories from my youth. Thank you for posting.
Hats off to the mechanics, volunteers, pilots, support staff and researchers to keep these amazing icons of history still beautiful and functional. Wish I could see the air shows in person.
I have so much respect for the gentlemen who restore, maintain, and fly these great old machines! Thanks for posting!
The guy,s and gals who maintain restore the exhibits at shuttleworth are very much appreciated by many many people thank you all
From 1910 to 1916 : What a big technicel Jump !
Such appreciation for finding this video and watching it tonight. 🙏
Everytime I see an original one of those old birds in the air I hold my breath and bite my nails for fear that it may be lost. My hope is that they will be around as long as humanity is, however long or short a time that may be.
As a hang glider pilot, these were the RC planes i built as a kid. Would have loved to live in that era. Flying, the obsession of mankind for almost 6000 years and only became accessible in our times. What an amazing privilege. Thanks Wilbur and Orville for cracking its secret.
Good morning to all from SE Louisiana 13 Dec 21.
Great video! Best hour I have spent watching YT ever.
Wow, thanks!
Evolution before ones eyes, from bits o canvass glued to a spar, to full on high performance metal skined wonders forged in the madness of war.
Thank you for the superb video.
KEEP EM FLYIN
That DH-88 looks way ahead of its time
I love those old planes. History of Aviation before our eyes. Beautiful Ships.
It just keeps getting better!
Best hour I've spent watching the old birds fly, a total pleasure, and alot of thanks to all that dedicate alot of time to make this all happen👍🇺🇸🇬🇧🛩️
To see this much aviation history flash by in 58 minutes gives a real sense of the astonishing technological advances that took place in such a short time. Especially the aircraft of 1930, where they didn't look that different from WWI just 12 years earlier, when you know what WWII aircraft looked like 12 years in the future.
in 8 Days Vintage PLans will be flying into my tiny town's air field. Can't wait.
OK OK... THIS IS NUTS. Speed passes in a 1916 Sopwith Camel with 3 cloth wings. This guys whole body is smiling. Best airshow I’ve ever seen. Thanks to all.
I remember seeing the Boxkite flying at Shuttleworth .
I couldn’t believe what I was seeing and nearly fainted with shock !
This is flat-out wondrous. I love that classic airfoil on the Blériot-illustrious pathbreaking plane. God bless you Brits! Cheers from the States 🇺🇸💛🇬🇧
I like that there is minimal narration. Really enjoy the ambient sound. Please don't change it.
"Never in my wildest imagination" Did I think I could see such a wonder.
Excellent! Especially the fact that there was no annoying music. Just the sweet sound of aircraft engines. Wish I could visit but its a long swim from the colonies to the UK. ;-)
the best air-show ever !!
The otherworldly feelings people must have felt as they watched these “flying machines”when they first appeared! Stunning collection! Thank you for sharing them with us all!
Красотища.Смотрел не отрываясь.Вот так надо беречь свою историю.Браво.
Why does this video have any dislikes? Who could possibly disapprove of this?!!!!! This is very inspiring and beautiful.
Yes!! And 1 out of 10 are dislikes 😱 i cant believe it! This is a freaking awesome vid
Amazing……thank you .
There are times - and they are not often! - when i wish to be english... I truly adore what you do, and what you keep alive. Volker Jahns, Germany
Mind Blowing Awesome and Guts!!!!
Cheers! Good show! Thank you all for keeping these wonderful machines alive.
Beautiful and well maintained!! Love these old birds.
Thank you so very much for this fantastic plethora of flying machines.
Grateful thanks to the Folks that keep them flying and also to the terrific skills of the actual pilots.
All respects also to those that flew them in combat over the years.
Wonderful time I had watching this magic!
Glad you enjoyed it
this is a beautiful machine! --- makes me wish to have been born to see the originals in flight! wow! thank you for sharing
Wonderful collection of vintage aircraft in the right setting. My all time favourite is the beautiful Hawker Hurricane. I had the pleasure of making some of the fuselage tubes for this actual example many years ago when I worked for Hawkers.
Verry Very well done!!!!!!!!!!
Been to the colection many times .and enjoy every minute.
Absolutely Loved every minute of this collection of VROOOOOOM!!! I'll make the trip across the pond just to see this spectacle in person
Very nice!
Just wonderful and exciting. Hope you can keep this going. If I ever visit the UK, I will certainly make the Shuttleworth Collection a must see. As someone else commented thank you for no music or other bs. The sound of those machines is music to my ears.
YES! Thanks for the pure engine sound... I’m a commercially licensed pilot and it makes all the difference!
I am so impressed with the fact that you have kept so many flyable planes, Excellent. Thank you for posting this.
That spitefire...Flying work of art. Hands down my favorite plane.
At 91 I think I could still get into a Gladiator or a Lysander, take off and get it back on the ground safely. A great film and the pilots of the first few in the collection deserve praise for their courage.
Pleased to hear it, hope you know how to master deflection shooting
Why not? If you did that at 18 years old, you still can. Gravity and air density haven't changed much. Go for it. A co-pilot might be a good idea, but I bet you still know what to do. How long have you been a pilot?
Absolutely fantastic. Thank you for giving us such a wonderful look into our storied past.
Been to old worden many times and never tire of seeing these old timers .
Superb! Enjoyed every minute. Thanks for posting
A priceless collection, lovingly restored and maintained. Jolly good, chaps!
Simply fabulous - the sound of those Merlins, whistle through the radiators, roll off the top and a lovely summer's day...what could be better.
What a beautiful collection. Which I could afford to visit the U.K. to see it. Truly magnificent.
I learned a lot in this video. I never knew Avro had a tri-plane. I have since read that only one was built and used as a trainer, and that this replica was used in the film ' Those Magnificent Men in Their Flying Machines'.
I had never heard of the Bristol M.1. Most of these were used in the Middle East, not the Western front.
The AVRO 504 was the most built plane from that period, with production continuing into 1940's. More than 10,000 were built.
The DH88 is the earliest monoplane I had ever seen that looked like it would fit in with most WWII aircraft. Its a racing plane.
Without words, beautiful !!!!
i think i like this without the commentary. raw. its like randomly seeing it fly overhead for the first time. the first impression with some wow.
It is great to see the evolution of aviation technology through flying aircraft. I soloed at age 16 in a 40 hp Taylorcraft. After the Korean I became an Aeronautical Engineer and was involved in the development of the F-4 ,T-38 , F-15 ,F-16 ,B-1 ,B-2,and F-22. I am 86 and still flying.
Great cause showing youth the age of flight ,for thousands of years we rode horses and from the first flight 70 years later we broke the sound barrier, it's a pity that the collection can't tour so more available to others who can't travel ,big pat on the back for all those volunteers spending countless hours for the love of keeping our heritage in the air
Pure awesomeness !! Thank you thank you thank you !!!
What a beautiful production. Well done to the producers, staff and patrons keeping history alive.
wrecked it soon as i pressed play. the intro sound is ridiculously loud. ignored and moved on to a different you tuber.
Super cool. Takes a lot of heart for those pilots flying those old 1910's era planes.
Yes, the Bleriot and Voisin and Farman etc. planes, just consider, are even pre-Titanic! Astonishing.
Didja see the vertical stab on the Bristol biplane about 20:00? Holy crap that's a spin waiting to happen. What an amazing collection. Just beautiful.
Its amazing to see these beautiful creations and to see the evolution in aviation history!😍😍
What a magnificent collection.
Really apriciated, thank you so much. Keep on displaying these beautiful planes,
Great vid of the old birds nice one thanks 🤙
Glad you enjoyed it
This a long video but well worth your time. It is, quite simply, the best antique aircraft video I have ever seen. Excellent photography. Excellent sound.
I've just discovered this video and thoroughly enjoyed it. Brings back many happy memories of my flying time in a Tiger Moth. Learned to fly on this type and did my first solo then went on to obtain my Private Pilot's Licence! Flew Piper Colts and Cessna 150 but you can't beat the good old Tiger Moth.
Awesome video! Not having made it to Shuttleworth yet, I had the impression it was an immaculately smooth airfield - which this video shows is not the case!
Beautiful!!!
As a lifelong fan of aviation history and 'heavy metal' I can only express my sincere thanks for seeing these beautiful machines so lovingly restored and maintained. Those early fighter aircraft, in particular, stand out together with the incredible bravery of the people who flew them. Thank you!

The Royal Guardsmen recorded the best Christmas song!
Snoopy's Christmas (vs the Red Baron)
I really loved this video - it does a fantastic job of showing what fine machines these aircraft are. The sound of the engines is almost hypnotic. Absolutely beautiful. Thank You.
Thanks for the wonderful hystoric show you have put to our eyes to enjoy.
Very Well Documented. Beautiful Examples of......Flight.
Excellent camera work and sound, fantastic collection of aircraft beautifully demonstrated and the Shuttleworth Collection is a wonderful institution. Thank you for a very happy hour and I look forward to visiting the museum again on a flying day when the current covid 19 epidemic is beaten..
such a great video!
As a model maker, it was a real pleasure for me to see all the Norstagoic planes in their element. I'm totally amazed, but I'm afraid that my lifetime won't be enough to recreate all these beautiful planes 😍
Thankyou so much for not spoiling it with Awful music .
What a totally enjoyable look back at British warplanes. This has to be one of the best presentations on RUclips. As an old codger and former pilot I'd like to thank you for this show and I hope you get the public turnout to keep this going in the future. I wish I had known about this when I visited the Mudderland back in 1999 for an extended stay but my hosts never mentioned it.
A salute to all of you, Jerry in NW Florida, USA
Phenomenal video! Thank you!
Thanks for all the kind comments, the Shuttleworth Collection is well worth a visit for any aviation enthusiast

Do you have any Santos Dummont's 14bis replica in your collection?
El maz feliz
Super video, great to see and hear these old aircraft displaying, thanks to all members of the team at the Shuttleworth Collection airfield for making this possible..
I think the Spitfire is the nicest looking aircraft ever built.. it just looks RIGHT !!what a great vid..absolutely loved it ..thanks for sharing..
Absolutely love it! What a wonderful trip into the past! Superb handling of the planes and i'm sure the pilots flying them must be thrilled!
Coming back to Earth must have been a downer!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Love that Deperdussan, in fact all of those early pre-war birds. Then there is the great leap forward with the early WW1 planes. Towards the end of the war they seem to be much smoother fying.
Then the Hurricane and the Spitfire came along at the right time for the second WW. Agood airshow all 'round.

Deperdussin ?
Some 15 years ago I digitalized from cassete to dvd a short clip " El tiempo de las helices " from a spanish Kalender Video that no more exhists but I can't obtained a full edition video...
The SOUND of these beautiful old planes is amazing too. ALL in Stereo! Such an amazing format (no narrator thank goodness!) Thanks so much for this. I sent it to my one pilot friend.
Great video and I was not disappointed with having no commentary, so thank you for uploading.
Thanks for uploading this. And thanks for not playing music, or using a high speed camera which makes a propeller look like a windmill, not a blur.

Such a beautiful collection of aircraft, thank you!!😃🖤
As little as I have on my bucket list, "coming through the gate" just became the next one.
Bear with me, it will be from the other side of the planet, on somewhat limited means.
God bless you all for preserving those remarkable pieces of history.
A Excellent Video and i loved the engine sounds..Thank you Thank You
Extraordinary!!! Especially these Bristol Boxkite 1910 conducted by young men. Very interesting

What an absolute credit you all are in preserving the heritage of some magnificent flying machines. would love to visit someday. fantastic. thank you for sharing this with us all.
This was shot in 2004 & 2005 before HD was practical to film in, we do however have 3 more Shuttleworth films that ARE in HD. One is available on our website (see above) and at least one of the others may appear on here soon!

Very good. I really enjoyed it and sent it to my friends. Well done!!!
I cant say that I have seen a better video on vintage aircraft ever... props!!
THANK YOU !!
Обожаю Рэтро-Авиацию! Низкий поклон тем, кто создает все это! Молодцы! Удачи Вам, и сколько взлетов - столько и посадок!!!
Please give at least a Google English translation... I have tried but cannot copy...
@@nagjrcjasonbower I can't copy either. I said that I really love retroaviation, and I respect the people who are passionate about it, who create all these planes. I wish them success, good luck, and as many takeoffs into the sky, as many landings!
@@user-uf8cs3pd2b So cool. Thanks! Much respect!
Love this video. In the age of Dreamliners and typhoons it is sometimes very humbling to go back in time and marvel over how it all began...
Watch it all. Great job. one of these days I shall visit.
Great film,really enjoyed.
