Great first story! She can have fun talking to her tree. If she doesn't pay him, I assume a person would first get fined and then jail, but a Judge should skip the fine and prison should be her home. Also just because the siblings live by the rules, it can end up a positive in a relationship where a couple maybe a bit opposite. The more serious person could keep their spouse grounded down and more level-headed vs the less serious person could help their spouse keep their sense of humor.

Story 1: Why would Drake wait a whole year before filing for custody? He could have made an emergency petition to the court for immediate custody as soon as Shelby ran off and abandoned Luke. The fact that she had disappeared and left her child on her sister-in-law's doorstep while knowing full well she wasn't even home to let him in would have been all the evidence he needed. Story 3: Why didn't the protagonist adopt Jack? He was abandoned by his mother for six years so surely an adoption by his father's family would be a no-brainer to any court.
In real life, a second story, I would be so embarrassed if my adult son or daughter had their wedding canceled due to making fun of someone with disabilities.

She was gone for an entire year and didn’t even check in with the sister-in-law that she thought her son was with. We know they’re having so many of these types of stories where the mom leaves them in a car out front, and take care of them or in this case. Whatever the case , it amazes me to think there might actually be people like this. And then there’s the blaming of other person . That is something that bothers me in all of these stories. Shelby with “Poor me what are we gonna do you know it’s really your fault. “ Shelby says it was SIL fault for going away on a business trip.. Yeah sure Shelby ,like it was her fault that she went on a business trip before she even knew she was gonna shove her kid on her . Then says she’ll call the police because Drake has the kid and that’s not part of the agreement. Yeah, well I think what she did is going to trump fact that Drake is actually taking care of an abandoned child . regardless of what the divorce settlement was the Drake should’ve still been keeping tabs on things. Anyway, sorry for rambling in circles, but Shelby is really working my last nerve. And demanding she wanted Luke back, just because she wanted to collect money. That bothers me when there are so many people out there who want a child and who maybe can’t have one , and then you have this ignorant woman neglecting him and using him.
