Would have to be some of the best instructional footage on RUclips, I don’t own a marlin but I watch every video, thanks mate for putting them together.👍😃
I got the Lever Takedown screw in stainless for my 336XLR a few weeks ago. It looks great and as you point out, makes removing the lever very easy. Thanks for the info video.
@Wolf's Prairie Outdoor.... I just picked up my Marlin 30/30 yesterday (consignment deal at my gun shop). Got out of a short hospital stay and went right to my gun shop. Also picked up a new RI 1911 45 acp. But it's my Marlin I'm itching to go shooting with the most. Gotta find me some ammo first (I really need to get into reloading) Just found your channel today, and subscribed. Diggin' the lever scrion content. I'm kinda bingeing on it, cuz I can't sleep. Your vid's aren't helping😉..keep up the lever gun content.
I purchased the Ranger Point lever, loading gate, and trigger. I love the components and believe they are very well made. The trigger and loading gate installed beautifully and operate flawlessly. However, I have spoken with Ranger Point Precision, and we have tried two levers, neither of which operate my action correctly. This disappoints me because not only is the upgrade practical, functional, and ergonomic, it also enhances the look of the rifle.
Glad you love the parts. With the lever, draw with a sharpie on top of the part that goes into the bolt. Run it to the stopping point a few times. Then remove the lever. Look for where it's worn the sharpie off. You'll need to sand that portion down some. There are some seriously varying tolerances in some of the Marlins and can keep the lever from full movement. Good luck!
This came about after doing some ammo testing with dad's Winchester Model 94, ruclips.net/video/5j2jUGeAzpE/видео.html It had been years since I'd shot a 30-30, and I fell in love with it after doing that video. So, I decided to get one of my own and do a build with it. As far as it's use versus the others I have, it is cheaper to feed than the 45-70 and will drop anything I can hunt around here. I still love my 45-70, but this is easier on the bank account haha. I will be using it to hunt deer later this year and do a comparison to our 45-70 hunts. I'll definitely let you guys know how the parkerized finish holds up. We have a VERY humid climate here so it'll be a good test. If it struggles, I'll Cerakote the rifle for sure. Thanks for watching!
Brian, great instructional video as usual. Does the quick takedown screw make it easier to accidentally unscrew and lose it in the woods versus the standard screw?
Thanks! I was hesitant at first when I thought about that. However, there is a rubber o-ring that you tighten up against. It locks down solid and I think it will stay in place very well. I'll definitely keep you guys updated on how it's holding up, and if/when I have to replace to o-ring. Great question & thanks for watching!
It's a great lever, and yes it is costly compared to the rifle. However, we bought the least expensive rifle we could find so that we could demonstrate how much you can do with it. It really is a great rifle and has so much potential.
Hmmm I'm not sure on that. You may have a bur on the opposing side that is keeping it from going all the way in. I've had that in different areas on builds. Other than that, I'm not sure. Good luck!
@@buildhuntxplore Well I ran a small brush through the hole and that seemed it help, as it's closed all the way now! Thanks. And to maybe be a little "greedy" I don't suppose you have a video on detailed disassembly on Marlin lever actions? Even if you don't you make great content that has helped me, have a good day!
Awesome! Glad that helped. Yes I do actually. Check out this series and I show full disassembly in some of the videos ruclips.net/p/PL5_FUX8DYo2j5NtP-wyzSO4ItA5w-E3kf Thanks for watching!
I am following your 336 series with great interest (and hope) as I tried to upgrade my JM 336 (2008 ser. Number) a couple of years ago without success. I ordered from Brownells a big loop lever (which they both advertised and confirmed personally would fit my rifle) which proved to be radically and obviously not designed for my model at all. (I have photos of the stock and custom levers side by side) As well, their Palo Verde Gunworks main spring, with its multi tension adjustment capability, failed in that the lighter (even only slightly lighter) hammer drop caused infrequent but predictable light primer strikes or misfires. So if you will forgive the pun, I am somewhat gun-shy of going through all of the again. Can you enlighten me with respect to the relationship between the “weight” of the hammer spring and the potential for misfires? Thank you indeed!
You had me man. I was sooo gonna watch the entire series....until you said "scratch the rifle". REALLY??? You're building a work horse "brush gun"??? You're worried about a scratch from a damn screwdriver????? FORGET IT
@@buildhuntxplore Ha! Psych!! I'm still watching!! Great so far! Thanks for commenting back so fast...awesomeness!! THE POWER OF THE PEOPLE IS STRONGER THAN THE PEOPLE IN POWER 🇺🇲 🏴☠️

Great work Brian! We'll be watching your build. 👍🏻
Thanks!! You guys rock!! Love your products!

Outstanding video! When is the next one in the series??!?!
Thanks so much!! Working on editing it now. Hope to have it up Monday.
I have an older marlin 30 30 I ordered the medium lever .25 Remington will it fit the 30 30 ?
Brian, for you, what does this do that your .357 or .45-70 doesn't? Also, please keep us updated as to how that parkerizing holds up!

Great content mate, new sub from Aus🇦🇺👌
Thanks so much!!
Is that the X1 loop or a just medium loop
Same gun I started with now my 336w is my own custom hunting rifle
Nice! It's a great rifle for sure.
Like the lever but almost half the price of the rifle?

Great stuff, but I wish you would have compared the 2 larger levers with gloves on too.
Thanks! Will do that for ya, thanks for the feedback 👍
Do they offer any levers in stainless? I have a stainless 336.
They sure do! Thanks for watching!
Richard, go their website....Ranger Point Precision. You will find all their stuff there.
Hey, a little help on the takedown screw? I bought the right kind but I can't turn it down all the way, there's still some space left.
Hmmm I'm not sure on that. You may have a bur on the opposing side that is keeping it from going all the way in. I've had that in different areas on builds. Other than that, I'm not sure. Good luck!

Can mods for this gun fit on the mossberg 464?
I don't think so, sorry
Can I use a 30AW instead of the 336?
