Badlands just has something more personal about it then her new album... Don't get me wrong, I love Halsey and I think she's super talented, but it feels to me that her older songs are more intimate. The way she describes moments and feelings is more like she's exposing her heart and trying to help us understand what she's been through and not the typical cookie cutter (with a slight Halsey twist to it) that her songs turned into. I just wish she kept more of that personal and intimate touch in her music.
