I never watched the Lego movie. But I do like building them. I’m 30. Well anyways I understand Will’s view. He’s an adult and he wants them as a model and to never change vs the kid’s pov where legos can be what ever you want it to be and can change all the time. Kind of clever idea for a movie. That’s what I got from this short clip
Considering how far back some of his sets and Minifigs go (including Classic Space from the late 70s and early 80s), I think it's easy to assume he's been collecting all his life. He probably even has a Bricklink account and saves money that way.
Can we appreciate how in the LEGO Movie universe, Finn basically managed to create a great story, complex characters, and a whole world and lore all on his own and does it for fun? Just seen this movie for the first time a few days ago. Technically it's teaching kids that when your parents are working on a very important project (toys or no toys) it's ok to mess around with it and fuck it up and the parent would automatically be ok with it and not be mad and forgive them 🤣
