To each their own but to me, retirement isn't just about not having to work, it's about having the freedom to do whatever you might reasonably want, such as travel, buying things, enjoying life, etc. I don't think I could retire with less than $3m in income-generating investments, maybe $2m at the very minimum. 8:33 OMG 🤯, He enjoyed Uber service once, then he bought 5% of Uber Inc. for $3.5 Billion in 2015. Now it worths $20B- $25B. Hey NUFC fans, you club is with a bloody tough guy. 😅
mfmahmoo As of right now he seems to be right on the money, I think it was a longer term play, did he overpay? Perhaps as it would’ve been nicer for him to get in at a better entry point but it’s beginning to even out & at this rate it may not be long before it begins to turn a nice profit minus the pandemic. At a $70B valuation on paper is about where they’d break even, I think it surpassed that sometime last year, of course market cap is different but valuation wise I think they have it at around 80-100B right now so his investment is somewhat profitable or break-even at the bare minimum on average. I figure market cap is around 60B, a sensible valuation is around 82B, call it 80, find the middle ground of 70 and at 3.5B for 5% if my maths isn’t a little off that’s about break-even.
Haks Hustle they bought it at a valuation of 62b. Current market cap is 60b (most accurate valuation since it’s listed). A considerable loss considering inflation/ opportunity cost. Although I must admit they could have invested in wework and gotten wrecked.
Also uber is not a good long term play in my opinion. I think most loss-making growth businesses with no clear toad to profitability such as uber, food delivery, etc are short term play where VCs want to cash out post IPO. I don’t want to be sicker holding on to such a stock post IPO. Who’s going to bankroll further losses? Lines of credit? Additional stock issuances diluting my stake?

My gratitude and praise to this team of gurus por bringing my life back on track when I thought everything was gone! but with the help guidelines I was able to realized that the secret to making a million is saving for a better investment
The first step to successful investing is figuring out your goals and risk tolerance either on your own or with the help of a financial professional but is very advisable you make use of a professional like I did If you get the facts about saving and investing and follow through with an intelligent plan, you should be able to gain financial security over the years and enjoy the benefits of managing your money.
perhaps we should recognize that to create the political is to embody the permanent tension between the institutionalization of freedom and the philosophical interrogation. To the extent that we are free to think then we can switch to a broader examination of the process of thinking itself. We can, therefore, speak of freedom as philosophy’s non-identical twin in the project of questioning and challenging the thinkable and practiced reality. To posit philosophy as a finished and exhaustive knowledge would be as if we defined and practiced freedom as the repetition of the same. The theological covering up of the philosophical interrogation goes hand in hand with the loss of the creative and revolutionary nature of freedom. To be sure, an individual who has already entered the philosophical questioning cannot avoid the explicit and free interrogation of positing other modes of thinking and other forms of the thinkable. It is fascinating to note that the philosophical questioning is a mode of thinking that can create cracks in the surrounding walls of the instituted thought. Philosophy as critical interrogation, therefore, takes place in the gap between free instituting thought and instituted thought. It is here that we might begin to understand why philosophy is the ongoing task of bringing freedom into political life as a lived corrective to the theological.
Temporarily waive/forgive (NOT just defer) rent for tenants and mortgage payments until people can safely return to work. Periodically, you have to let the land lie fallow in order for it to become replenished with fertilizers. This solution doesn’t even require us to collect or dish out more money. (The government could offer tax credits or refund payments to landlords for repairs, upkeep and employees. Property taxes could be waived. Banks would be bailed out, if they needed it). Moving forward, this should be just part of the cost for doing business as a landlord or lender. Fortunately, times like these are not common. But when they do come, the landlords and lenders should help bear some of the burden. Until the vaccine is developed, 2020 needs to become a Jubilee-type year.
Government investment outside the country causes great damage to the national economy. Such investments enhance production and create jobs in countries where these funds are invested. At the same time, they do not benefit the national economy even if these abroad investments achieve profitable returns for the government. Logically, increasing domestic production, creating jobs and raising purchasing power are more important and more beneficial to the economy than supporting government budgets and reserves. Therefore, the government should focus more on delivering most of the oil revenue to consumers to raise their purchasing power and the public demand; and also, to channel its funds to producers to increase supply. This is the foundation of any economy because, in the end, the economy's main constituents are supply and demand. Also, it is essential for the government to sign its contracts with shareholding companies whose percentage of Saudi labor force is not less than eighty percent to keep its contracting money within the national economy. Unfortunately, as of today, most of government contracting money flee abroad which is more harmful to the national economy than the benefits of the projects. The only way to reduce dependence on the oil revenue is the oil revenue by keeping most of it within the national economy for increasing production and creating jobs. Any investment abroad will not compensate for the oil revenue. The profit from producing and selling oil is 50% if we sell oil barrel for 15 dollars while the average profit from the successful investment funds is 10% in addition to the high risk of investing under the jurisdiction of other countries. Undoubtedly, the biggest threat to the Saudi economy is the annual capital leaving the local economy. The sources of the huge money outlets are numerous and not limited to the government internal projects and the government external investments. In addition, citizens deposits and investments, Saudi tourism, foreign labor transfers and excessive imports all combined represent serious threats to the economy. More important than the capital resources are the human resources. Saudi governments invested heavily and generously in education but did not achieve the main target of skills and experience in its Saudi labor force. Instead, the country was flooded by foreign labor who now occupy 80% in most of the producing sectors and the jobs of these sectors. In addition to the country dependence on foreign labor the country also, as mentioned earlier, the government revenues depend on foreign money of more than 80% from the sale of oil. This dual dependency on foreign labor and foreign money indicates that the economy is substantially not self dependent which remain to be the biggest challenge and the most serious threat to the economy.
@@malcolmx6044 I do not doubt the outstanding capabilities of his Excellency Yassir Al-Rumayyan, but he can achieve greater results for the national economy if he injects the money from the national investment fund inside the country in the populated cities of consumers and producers. Internal investments, contrary to investments abroad, raise production, provide job opportunities and expand purchasing power. Moreover, money grow three folds or more when deposited, invested and spent within the local economy through the process of the money multiplier.
Its happening from education to investment. Its an ambitious task to change an economy/country with 35 million inhabitants. It won't happen over night and mistakes will happen along the way. Luckily they can afford to make mistakes and will learn from them, whilst other nations take the careful route. Also to point out, PIF does dish out funds to partnered VC firms within the Kingdom. The government is also providing interest free loans to Tech startups and the Agricultural industries. I'm interested to know what your thoughts are on the Agriculture sector in Saudi Arabia, if you have any?
@@alisuliman7264 or invest more in your neighbors. They don't need your money in New York and Honk Kong. Same goes for other economies in the region.

He should of asked "What portion of assets were short sell positions before OPEC decided to flood the global market with cheap crude oil before one of the steepest market corrections in history". I am confident he will reach his sovereign wealth targets.
I wonder if the fund is able to take such positions considering the conflict of interest. Wouldn’t it be considered insider trading? But then again no one is governing them
Interesting interview. To hear that the PIF has a one trillion dollar investment goal by 2030 doesn't match up with its current multi-billion $ investment in LIV, the new golf league that will never see a return on investment.
I suspect it's a strategic decision to engage high profile events/tournaments like Golf, Formula, Boxing, etc, similar to Dubai model, which in turn bring other investments and act as a promotional catalyst for Saudi. I see a lot of parallels to Dubai's experiment which started off with stuff like that and now it is a hub for businesses, trade, and has the name recognition to go with that.

This guy is sitting on top of the world. He is impressive and his general knowledge is excellenf. Also, his English is immaculate with one major exception. I only wish that somebody would tell him that he has to work on his "ing” endings. For example he always says ”in”. So the word ”speaking” comes across as ”speakin”. He has to pronounce the letter ”g” and not eat it. Somebody with his stature must come across as a sophisticated executive. There are trainers that would, with little efforts, help him talk like an executive and noy like a dude. This is a habit he picked up early on when he was learning ”learnin” the language and he never got rid of it. I wish I could get this comment to him.

It is here that we might begin to understand why philosophy is the ongoing task of bringing freedom into political life as a lived corrective to the theological.

great interview and stellar guest.
These interviews are just one softball after another
Temporarily waive/forgive (NOT just defer) rent for tenants and mortgage payments until people can safely return to work.
Awesome interview
Yasir accent is like music to my 👂!

I agree with you but most of the people trust the man in the black suit
I know Egypt receives a ton of Saudi cash, but Saudi power and wealth can come together to transform Egypt into a thriving economy, which will actually benefit Egypt. Same goes for other economies in the region.
I like your comments on financial risk management, very practical. These strategies are very important to protect investment money, thanks for sharing!"

Saudi Aramco is complete brilliance.
Well said, They are working hard 👍🏻
So, he had a Uber app and liked it? That was it ? David is so good with his questions, calm, polite and critical.
He should of asked "What portion of assets were short sell positions before OPEC decided to flood the global market with cheap crude oil before one of the steepest market corrections in history". I am confident he will reach his sovereign wealth targets.
Sounds like a good strategy. It would be stupid no to pursue..
I wonder if the fund is able to take such positions considering the conflict of interest. Wouldn’t it be considered insider trading? But then again no one is governing them
🇸🇦🇸🇦🇸🇦 Mr. Yasir, he is one of the best leaders you can work with
ياسر الرميان فخر المملكة ومكتسب وطني سعودي فاخر ورجل عملي وحريص جدا على عمله 🤍🤍🇸🇦
It’s now about 550bil
2025 target is 1tri
2030 target is 2-3tri
This comment aged well..

Great interview though, seems like a well informed guy. I just really hope the progressiveness he speaks about actually continues
So you want saudi arabia to become a god less satanic state like the US where women are naked
@ 😂 No. That's not what I mean. Progressiveness doesn't mean godless. It just means inclusion of everyone in societal and economic development
@@taofeeqtijani6364 what do you mean by inclusion of everyone in societal and economic development
I love him so much man ,, he is a source of inspiration for me tbh . I am proud about the fact that me & him were born in the same city, ( Buraydah ) .. ^^ ,, today I am A NUFC fan .. let's go Yasir and get some titles
sending love from Saudi Arabia ^^
Buraydah sucks, Unaizah is way better.
