As an avid user of both SQL and NoSql, I really love how you guys are amalgamating the best of both concepts into one. CAP made easy indeed! Great video! Looking forward to more.
Hi Bhanu, we'll take that feedback in! In the meantime, check out these videos that outline the differences between Spanner, BigTable, and BigQuery: ruclips.net/video/tc2940Zwvyk/видео.html ruclips.net/video/3aHBkfBRFEU/видео.html
Stephanie, could you explain how Cloud Spanner manages connections as if it uses connection pools or does it offer new approaches to connection management to handle higher traffic?
You can see blogs related to Spanner (customer stories too) here: cloud.google.com/blog/search;query=spanner;paginate=25;order=newest Check out example architectures here: cloud.google.com/architecture?text=spanner Other customer architectures here: ruclips.net/video/UAjDfvxxbf0/видео.html
You can leverage the Spanner client library for PHP: cloud.google.com/spanner/docs/reference/libraries#client-libraries-install-php Some choose to migrate from mySQL to Spanner, though are certain concepts different from other enterprise database management tools, so you might need to adjust your application's architecture to take full advantage of its capabilities. cloud.google.com/solutions/migrating-mysql-to-spanner
Users interact with Spanner using SQL, but the way the data is organized under the hood is very different from traditional relational databases. For your purposes, you can probably say it's a SQL database.

Thanks Godfrey! More to come ☺️
I don't know why, but it somehow feels really good that this was made from a home, not a big office or big studio.
(Spanner looks really cool too ☺)
Thanks! We'll be filming from home for a while and I think it gives it more of a RUclipsr feel - more personalized!

@@stephaniewong142 Thanks 🙂
This looks good. Wish I had this 15 years ago!
Traditional databases force us to choose between availability (stale data) and consistency (no data) not performance and consistency

Cool pitch, how much? I can pay tree fitty.
Thanks for sharing.

@@stephaniewong142 Mahalo Stephanie, the "Migration Process" part of that doc is helpful to me. Thank you!
Is cloud spanner a SQL database or noSQL

when i saw price of 1 node and regional. I deleted instance immediately. So highhhh
Looking forward for some of these features to be back-ported to the other existing GCP databases!
Hello mam , thanks for a great video I learned a lot from you ❤️❤️❤️
I first read "cloud spammer"
😂 I'd be interested to see the marketing material for that product.
so did I!
Hello Team, could you let Stephanie share some client side DB knowledge with us? And maybe a few bits of no-DB tech?
Fantastic woman 🥰
Expensive!
