I found one of these in decent shape at my local tip about 20 years ago. Got it for nothing, sent it away to be refurbed, and the guy did a runner. Never saw it again. Hearing this is bringing the pain back :(((
Quick question: does yours have the original Telefunken tubes in it? I've seen one here with the tubes replaced being sold for full price, and I guess that could change the sound significantly...
it does not chance the sound at all. Mine has the original Telefunken Tubes in it and it does not matter, just as it does not matter in any amp i put them in so far...marketing
@@michaelzahnwehgitarre8957 Your comment is not a fact but rather a personal opinion. Different tubes cause different sound changes in the same circuits. They have charackteristics and are not all the same. So yes .... it does change the sound if you put different tubes in the Echolette. Depending on how new or old / what manufacturing standarts and materials where used for the tubes.
Hey there. I'm not in the impulse response market, but past to future reverbs have released some Echolette Super IRs. See here: pasttofuturereverbs.gumroad.com/l/lzhkm?layout=profile It's just the preamp / EQ section though if I'm not mistaken.
Yes, these are going for around €500 these days when in good working condition. Well worth it though IMHO - plus you're also getting a killer tube mic preamp..
@@3str €500 is cheap. I saw one here in Stockholm for close to 1,000. To be honest I would buy it for the tube sound alone - maybe it's easier to get them cheaper with the echo function not working?

How much did this badboy cost you? I've always wanted one but they're incredibly expensive when in working shape...
