You are so right of course. Having said that Macdonalds does an absolutely amazing job training people. I worked there myself. There was a kid I went to high school with who worked his way up to management at Macdonalds. I saw it build a lot of leadership skills in him.
I want to be positive with you but the fact is he has been there for 8 years. He is obviously intelligent too - something else is holding him back. Maybe himself, maybe the surrounding institutions. Probably doesn't help that when he is applying to more ambitious roles, he has "MacDonalds" on his resume for almost a decade. Human resources will faster take on a less intelligent candidate with just 1 year experience as an intern at a prestigious institute contra someone more intelligent with 8 years' experience at a bottom rank institute like MacDonalds. Hard but true. Plus, the former fool will be cheaper and easier to justify to the bosses than an experienced MacDonalds manager who wasn't fortunate enough to have the parental connections to get them into their first job. Life is easy for some, brutal for most.

I was a fast food worker on my journey to my current workplace. It’s a step that you won’t forget because you are having to hustle each day at a different pace. I can appreciate the fact that he allowed himself to learn something he otherwise would probably not ever have to do under any circumstance. It’s not just the jobs that require and education that need credit for what they do. Fast food workers, truckers, steel workers, and any other job needs recognition too and someone has to do it. He might be a little rocky on technique but he’s never done it before so he took on quick by having a genuine interest. Also that trainer obviously has become an expert in 8 years and I hope that in the next 8 or less he can own his own business or get a major position somewhere because he is good at training and he’s a man of standard. When I was the fry boy at Wendy’s I always made sure the fry’s were made right and I definitely felt it because our line was packed every day, but we had a short wait time lol

Working with hot oil is extremely dangerous if you don’t take it seriously. I know, we used to have a pan with oil with a rack that went on the gas stove. You put freshly cut potatoes in there quickly that oil bubbles up and over and if you have gas underneath it, it sets the kitchen on fire. I imagine a fighter jet would be safer 😂

Working with hot oil is extremely dangerous if you don’t take it seriously. I know, we used to have a pan with oil with a rack that went on the gas stove. You put freshly cut potatoes in there quickly that oil bubbles up and over and if you have gas underneath it, it sets the kitchen on fire. I imagine a fighter jet would be safer 😂
