I have a Redcat Gen 7 Pro, and I've brought it to school for "Anything But A Backpack" Day the last two years, but I'm graduating this year so I gotta make it even better than last time. I think I'm gonna get one of these to use the extra channels for custom lighting, and driving one-handed so I can control a custom soundboard on my phone for sound effects on a Bluetooth speaker.
Ya, this radio is really a great idea for those that want to keep a hand free, especially for crawling. The only thing we don't like about it is that we don't have any more receivers LOL
I do trail hiking with my RC crawler. That's the main reason I got it. It's my exercise motivator. Being able to drive one handed would feel way more natural.
I have a couple Hot RC 6 channel transmitters that I use exclusively for my scale RC boats. The 6 channel model has the throttle and steering on the same thumb stick unlike the 4 channel model which has separate controls. Love the cruise control function and the additional extra 4 channels are great for operating lights and a engine sound devise. Digital on off switches are required to use the extra channels though. A Wii Nunchuck is another interesting one handed controller. Years ago I used a Nunchuck to control a small RC helicopter. The joystick controlled roll and pitch and the accelerometer controlled the throttle and yaw. It was a lot harder to fly the helicopter using a Nunchuick but I think it would have gotten easier with practice. I used a Nunchuck to control a few robots. My channel trailer is a hexapod with a Nunchuck controller. Thanks for the interesting video.
I've been looking for something like this cause my brother is into rc cars but unfortunately because of a motorcycle accident his left arm is dead now... he can only use his right arm... so thanks for the video
That's pretty cool! If not filming you have a free hand to hold a drink or smoke if so inclined! I wonder if it would bind to another brand of FHSS reciever?
Ya, it was odd - I kept reaching for the wheel with my right hand! LOL But yah, a nice cold drink or maybe a hot dog out on the trail... Not sure about it binding to another brand of receiver. Guess I could try and see.
I had a stroke and can only use my left hand. Can throttle and brake control linearity just like the HotRC CT-8? Does it have another input for updates?
It should be able to - haven't tried it though. It's really designed as a right-hand-usage controller, however we're not right handed so used it with the left. It's a little less comfortable but after a few runs we got pretty good at it.
Does this work with a trx 4 defender ? Do you deliver to Europe? I have a disability in my left hand and cant use a normal controller… this would make me very happy ❤ great product!

I lost this use of my left hand and have been wanting to get into a nitro rc so this will finally let me. Thank you. Now I need payday to hurry.
It does work great but not sure if it has the features you might need for Nitro. Good luck though - hope it works out.

Definitely recommend it for trail driving. It takes a little getting used to initially but, once you get the hang of it, it's almost natural.

You know in the instructions, they say the transmitter can receive 9v but you only have the option of 4 aa batteries. So how do you get 9v????
That's a good question. We didn't see a 9v connector - maybe it's a different version of the radio system.
It should have 3 axis gyro sensor with measuring angle of a grip - then makes it sense

As far as we know, it's not possible through the radio. You might have to adjust it through the ESC if that feature is available.
