Fantastic tutorial. Very nice explanations and incremental demos/tests of each step. I was just trying to pull in MS Forms responses into SharePoint (with lookup column,) and this was a perfect tutorial. (Especially liked the tip of getting rid of the foreach.) Looking forward to check out the rest of your channel (expressions, json!)

Best tutorial I've seen on this topic. But not yet what I need. I have a main Microsoft List that is populated from Microsoft Forms. The Microsoft List has two lookup columns (and other columns). I need to populate the columns from the form and then get corresponding information for each of the lookup columns from another Microsoft List. Not clear on whether what you have here will work.

May I ask one question: How is the syntax when it comes to multivalue lookups via Power Automate?

It’s inspiring how dedicated you are to what you are doing. I mean that it’s unlikely you run this channel to make money because number of views and subscribers is relatively small. Looks like you are truly dedicated and that’s cool!

You are right but not completely. I didn't build this channel to make money, but it has helped me a lot financially. Not through RUclips ads, but from publicity and credibility. I am a consultant and this RUclips channel has helped me land many contracts. I also use it to see what topics sell better and build my Udemy courses based on the feedback I get from RUclips.
Thank you for your comment. In the end inspiration of viewers like yourself make me continue the work.

Great video Alireza. Thank you very much for a clear and great explanation.
One question, I have two lists, Parent / Child lists. The parent list contains requests, which have to be later approved. The child list contains one or several subitems of the parent request (linked by a lookup value to parent). The idea is when a user creates a new request, he fills in the request info (Header) with basic information, then he creates one or several records or subitems with the detail of the order (position or referenced item) in the child list. The final idea is to have an approval sent by email per parent record, so I'm trying to update a field in the referenced parent record with all the subitems of the order, but I'm having trouble with flow. Can't get to update the record. Is there a simple way to do this?

Could you do a video showing how to add a value to an HTML table from a related data table that has a 1-1 relationship? I'm using Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement (CRM) and am outputting data from the Opportunities table, but need to pull the Customer Name from the Account Table into the HTML table since internally it shows as a complex 16 digit key.
I would have thought there was a simple 'lookup' command in 'Dynamic Values' but I guess that would be too easy.

I am having trouble copying a lookup column with multi selections from on list to a lookup column with multi selections in another list, I do it in the same way as if it was a choice column. It says the column is read only. What am I doing wrong - or isn't it possible?

Could you just explain me how to do the same process but base on a Excel sheet which contains all record I would like to store in Sharepoint ? I try to put the get item step into a apply to each but it doesn't work. Thanks you some much and have a nice day.

    Thanks, great first step!
Now, if you have a larger list with longer names, NO ONE will remember the actual lookup values, nor should we have to. We have a lookup in SharePoint for a reason. Now we step back trying to make things simpler and remote but end up making things more precarious. In that case, if you're wrong EVERYTHING becomes "Miscellaneous".
Have you figured out how to crack it so that the user has an input that provides an actually list of items to choose from. Yes we can have that simple little 'text input' as category, but the variable assigned needs to be pulled from the actual list, and show the list, not the user blindly entering anomalous values.
Microsoft needs to include that in the "Input trigger". They think we all only use simplistic text boxes and anything beyond that requires a degree in computer science to figure out.

That input trigger is already there. Check Power Apps :)

    • @carlw
      @carlw 3 года назад

@@AlirezaAliabadi Thanks Alireza. Sorry, not sure what you mean by checking Power Apps. The Button trigger in Power Automate, in addition to text, number, date etc. inputs only provides a lookup list you have to populate manually. It doesn't provide a way of choosing a value from a lookup a list. Is that what you mean?
Also, for your interest, another gentleman Aniruddha Biswas is working on a similar technique: "Upload Any File from PowerApps to SharePoint Library" ruclips.net/video/orc7fYKcGxU/видео.html

I have a Flow that I created that automatically triggers when an item is created. The flow goes and matches the value in one field, goes to another list and copied several columns over. Right now I am the only user as I am testing my site. My question is: If another user (Jane) creates an item in this same list and the flow runs under my ownership (Cody) -- will my name show up as "Modified By" or will it still show her name?
