Well, that certainly was interesting. Hey, it got the job done, that's all that's important. I'm in the states, and I have a very small grassy area behind my pool, but it's up 3 steps and I got tired of hiking the mower up the steps, so I bought a Black & Decker 3 in 1, which is a combo string trimmer, edger and lawn mower. You can get it in corded or cordless. I chose the battery op, and you can adjust the height and the string trimmer snaps into the base with a foot pedal, and gives a great cut, weighs nothing at all and I don't get a hernia dragging a lawn mower up 3 steps for a very small job. It's handy, you cut the grass, snap out the trimmer, edge and trim, has an auto spool feeder also. There's something for everybody these days , and it works fine for my needs.

I have spent probably 500 hours using a 2 or 4 stroke hover mower over the last 25 years cutting grass at a friends large property. There are three areas where they excel above all other mowers; 1/ They are brilliant on steep slopes and around the sloping margins of golf bunkers and ponds. 2/ They are great on small irregular shaped pieces of grass where its tricky to mow in a straight line. This is because they cut sideways so well and because you can mow in an arc without moving your feet 3/ Around trees. Its around trees where they are underappreciated. The area I cut has about 120 small and medium closely spaced ornamental trees. I can stand in one position and cut all around a tree without moving my feet. I have timed it and I can cut around trees about 80% faster with a hover mower than a small cylinder or rotary which matters for me when I have so many to cut around.

I have an electric mower, larger than that, with a catcher, hi from sunny Arizona
I'd like to see it!
The sad thing is I don't know how to put a picture on this video or a reply to your Question
That mower is CUTE! But I like my battery operated mower!
I'd take a battery mower over this for sure!
I am older and have severe arthritis. I mow with electrics all the time. The ignition alone makes it worth the extra expense, and I’ve never had problems with battery life or cut quality.
Good to here Murl!
MY backyard has a steep slope. I always struggle to mow it with my self propelled honda. It's so heavy. I'm thinking to buy this flymo
Being from the States, I have to say that was one of the strangest mowers I've ever seen. Almost like some sort of space alien type device hoovering the grass. Cool & extremely effective!
It gets the job done but I definitely wouldn't say extremely effectively 😀
@@timthelawnmowerman Well, at least on camera anyway, the lawn looked a lot better than when you got there.
Lol weird would be correct
i kiinda dont wanna mow my lawn now so these guys rock up
My grandfather had a flymow and similar whippet snipper in the 90’s. I remember my dad being horrified at the thought of pop possibly running over the lead.
It sure doesn't feel safe
@@timthelawnmowerman not much was safe with pop around
Thanks guys. Love the videos ❤️
Thanks Sarah!
I've never seen one of those in the US but looks like it did a credible job! I'm sitting here listening to Christmas music as you mow. Nicole didn't have much commentary but good to hear her voice. Take care!
She felt a little off that day, I shouldn't have dragged her out 🤣
Hello from New York....
Hey Paul
We had a gas fly mow. We used it for years.
The parks grass crew still use them for hills ect.
I live in the niagara region Ontario, Canada 🇨🇦
Thanks for checking it out Bonnie!
