I would call the cops and report the kidnapping and sue the school for releasing my child to a stranger

I would've called the cops immediately and then called a lawyer to sue her and the school for everything they have.

Child support yes, compensation or alimony they won’t pay that. Accuser must prove 3 things in court. Extremely expensive and difficult to prove. Besides all but 6 states are no-fault divorce states. The 6 that aren’t don’t care. A judge would set all money amounts in court anyway. Child support is based on the other persons income, not what you want.

The kindergarten would not of allowed the child to be picked up unless the person picking them up was on the list to do so. If the school staff doesn’t know that person they would be required to show ID with photo proof. Schools and the staff don’t like to be sued that’s why they’d do that.

One would believe that. It's on the books for schools to do that. But I know from experience that it's not happening that way. I was asked to pick up kids and watch them due to their parents being in the hospital (dad got hurt at work, bad),and I didn't even have to show id, the teacher never said anything, I just said I was there to pick them up and they came with me. Had only spoke to the kids over our fence. So I wasn't surprised this person was able to get the boy and take him home.

There wasn't any lists years ago for someone to pickup kids but I think that changed when my daughter was a Junior or Senior in high school. I was gone one day and when I came home one of my neighbors was having a fit because the kindergarten bus driver wouldn't let her take another neighbor's child off the bus because she wasn't on the list. She told me that I had to go pick her up because I was on the list. I was friend's with the child's mom and so was the other woman but I had no idea I was on the list. I went and picked the child up with no problems and brought her home with me.

@Tina Joe Rossignol strangely enough, in your personal case.the school just possibly was notified about the father being injured and hospitalized. The mother may have contacted the school to let them know who would be picking them up.

@@conleykat When my nieces were in elementary school, adults needed to be on a list to take a child off the bus but a twelve-year old who was on the bus was allowed to walk younger children off of it. My nieces did this with a six-year old they would occasionally watch for a couple of hours when her parents' work schedules didn't allow for them to be home in time. The parents couldn't add my sister to the list because there was a 3 name limit and that was the parents and grandmother.

@kd cats They had no clue lol. They didn't care. They were hungover from the week long party they had. I wouldn't have known anything if I wasn't outside getting into my car when she came out to drive to the hospital. I didn't know their kids were violent and had a record of it. The youngest was 4,and the school had his parents put him in daycare because he hurt his teacher and 2 other kids. The point? The systems and laws put in place for our, and our children's safety only works if the individuals responsible care enough to do it. Plenty of schools and staff are being caught breaking these laws and procedures and losing lawsuits, going to jail and so on. You can keep wearing your rainbow sunglasses if you want. Just because I'm quite and polite doesn't mean I'm not paying attention. Heck my kids school just fired a forth grade teacher on a Tuesday afternoon. Showed up at the door with a sub and escorted her to her car and off the property. We all know how hard it is for a teacher with seniority to get fired like that. Had to have hard proof of something really bad.

I remember one time I went to pick my niece up from school and her regular teacher wasn't there......
So in order to pick up the kid..... You had to show your ID but to prove that you were ALLOWED and VERIFIED to pick up the child they put a STAR on our IDs.
Well my purse had gotten stolen out of my car, so I had a OLD but VALID ID that I took with me... Well like I said REGULAR teacher wasn't there that day and even though my niece kept saying I was HER AUNT, HER MOTHER'S SISTER, the teacher wouldn't let her come with me because I DIDN'T have the STAR on my ID!!!
I had to call my sister and even after her telling the lady who I was and that it was ok, she STILL wouldn't let me have my niece!!!!!! My poor sister had to leave work to get my niece and after she got done telling the teacher off for not checking the list and making her have to leave work.... They changed the policy that the teacher had to check the list and match the ID NUMBER if there wasn't a STAR visible!!!!!
