A couple of thoughts- I grew up in west Texas where naturally occurring fluoride was very high. We had to have water delivered in order to keep from getting mottled teeth from too much fluoride. Also, polio was everywhere. Next door, in the classrooms, family members. The US has had almost 70 years of data regarding polio vaccines. I don’t think rfk knows what he is talking about. As for ultra processed foods- we should all know that they aren’t good for us.
I grew up in Tennessee with well-water... no fluoride... and I was constantly at the dentist.. when we finally got city water with fluoride, magically, my dental visits went to almost nil.

I am from the UK. My mother contracted Polio in 1925 at the age of 3. She had to wear an iron leg support growing up and it left her with a withered and slightly shorter left leg in adult life. She could not lift her left leg unaided, walked with a limb as was very prone to falls throughout her life. There were no Polio vaccines in the UK in 1925. The problem now is that because of vaccines, many many people have not experienced Polio, TB, Small Pox and the rest, in their life times and have not seen the devastating effects of these diseases. If the US were to experience a Polio epidemic, they would soon change their minds and RFK Jr would be locked up.

This is highly contagious with some significant mortality. What most non medical people miss is it is not the bug that kills you, it is each person's immune response. What usually happens is the immune response goes into a hyper feedback loop that it impossible to break. Also antibiotic and anti viral resistance is a very real thing. Yes it is possible to get polio or whatever disease you pick from the vaccine but those cases are exceedingly rare vs the chance of getting it without the vaccine. Risking achievement of herd immunity takes months or years with a significant number of lives lost. If you are on the fence focus your research on understanding the immune system and how it responds versus the vaccines. I stand firmly behind vaccine mandates in children. Until you see the actual anguish of parents watching their un vaccinated children die in a PICU with more equipment and 20 different IV lines than the room can hold seriously research with an open mind.

I’m 76 and remember polio and other childhood illnesses. My young adult relatives don’t have that background and believe social media. They are completely against vaccine requirements for schools. Terrifying indeed if the anti vax and anti science folks prevail.
Polio was conquered in one year flat. I'm 71 years old, and I grew up with friends that had polio. Thank God that I was born a year later.

A couple of thoughts- I grew up in west Texas where naturally occurring fluoride was very high. We had to have water delivered in order to keep from getting mottled teeth from too much fluoride.
Also, polio was everywhere. Next door, in the classrooms, family members. The US has had almost 70 years of data regarding polio vaccines. I don’t think rfk knows what he is talking about.
As for ultra processed foods- we should all know that they aren’t good for us.

I am from the UK. My mother contracted Polio in 1925 at the age of 3. She had to wear an iron leg support growing up and it left her with a withered and slightly shorter left leg in adult life. She could not lift her left leg unaided, walked with a limb as was very prone to falls throughout her life. There were no Polio vaccines in the UK in 1925. The problem now is that because of vaccines, many many people have not experienced Polio, TB, Small Pox and the rest, in their life times and have not seen the devastating effects of these diseases. If the US were to experience a Polio epidemic, they would soon change their minds and RFK Jr would be locked up.

I would wager in childhood he did, but in his childhood timeframe there were only the Polio, Smallpox, and the DPT vaccines. MMR came out when he would have been around ~12-14.

This is highly contagious with some significant mortality. What most non medical people miss is it is not the bug that kills you, it is each person's immune response. What usually happens is the immune response goes into a hyper feedback loop that it impossible to break. Also antibiotic and anti viral resistance is a very real thing. Yes it is possible to get polio or whatever disease you pick from the vaccine but those cases are exceedingly rare vs the chance of getting it without the vaccine. Risking achievement of herd immunity takes months or years with a significant number of lives lost. If you are on the fence focus your research on understanding the immune system and how it responds versus the vaccines. I stand firmly behind vaccine mandates in children. Until you see the actual anguish of parents watching their un vaccinated children die in a PICU with more equipment and 20 different IV lines than the room can hold seriously research with an open mind.

Stupidity kills the soul 😢 when I was in nursing school doing affiliated in Public Health Nursing I visited a family in one of the villages in poor area found 3 kids paralyzed waist down because one child got polio and so the two siblings. I was so sad as a nursing student,I don’t know how many more families in this areas were affected by Poliovirus because poliovirus is very contagious. We reported this incident to Dept. of Health to give immediate action. Now, all kids are getting vaccinated in the whole country. So I don’t understand while some people don’t believe in vaccines ☹️
I had Covid even though I completed all COVID vaccines but I’m still alive. It prevented me from going to the hospital and died.
