Your dexterity must be getting better after 3 times removing and installing that oil cooler. Let's stay positive and say next week will be a good test.
I’m hoping that oil cooler was the problem. Enjoyed watching. You always heard ole folks say it when I was growing up “ they just don’t make things like they use to” and I’m in agreement with them still ! Chinesium parts
Thanks for the update Pete, sorry to hear about the problems you were having with it. Hopefully you have everything corrected and it goes smoothly the next time👍
Kick me!!! When you first said the cooler was bad, I was going to tell you... I've seen a few videos lately on replacing them. Like you, they guys know what they are doing. Same kinds of issues with aftermarket. 1 out of the 4 finally got it to work after fighting it for a few days.. the other 3 gave up after a couple of days and found OEM.. perfect fit and no messing around, first try worked. If it coming past the threads, a little rtv or thread sealer should work... Done that quite a few times.
Well you should be able to do that in your sleep now. Replaced the oil cooler on our 3010 with an a&i part and it needed modifications to fit so its not only eBay parts. That was a hydraulic oil cooler though.
Wow, that was amazing....the shear patience you possessed during that r&r Mr Pete!! I am very curious now as too the outcome of that small coolant leak at the front plate. Do you use like a high tack type sealant/ indian head , or regular rtv? Thank you sir for the dedication, to filming all of the repair. Looking fwd to see how it turns out Mr Pete!! 😁😁👍👍🇺🇸🇺🇸
Thanks Nelson! I used regular blue RTV on the o-rings and the base, Permatex aviation form-a-gasket on the bolt threads. I really think It was the bolts leaking.
Dang - always something…. Best of luck on the repair…👍
Thanks!

Well, it did go quicker each time 🙂

Thanks. Pretty sure I can make it work, I'm cheap and stubborn 🙂

Thanks! Not every project can go smoothly.
Well that was a struggle!! Hopefully it worked 👍
For sure! I'll find out next week.

At this point I really think all it needed was some sealer on the threads. I'll know more next week!
@@farmerpete I think that and around the O rings is what others have done 👍
Good to see you making some videos again Bud
Thanks! I have been slacking off 🙂
You're not slacking...I'm sure it's pretty busy being a one man band.@@farmerpete
Cascade is how we always cleaned the dt 466 engines 😊
I thought it should work.

I am pretty well practiced up at it. Thanks.

@@farmerpete 😁😁👍👍
Isn't it sad when you have to fix new aftermarket replacement parts! Such a shame!
At this point I think all it needed was sealer on the bolts. I’ll know next week.
Some days are like that 😉😂
One step forward, two steps back 🙂
