Set up a tent inside the house with tarps, camping tent, plastic bags, etc. Crunch up news papers and create air.pockets under your jacket to keep heat in. Heat metal and rocks in an outside fire to bring the heated objects inside your tent. Boil water, sip hot water. Good luck
Especially for children! Make sure to have new little toys or coloring books stashed away so that they get something "new" that they haven't seen before so they theyre extra happy about getting it.
Having a sleeping bag for everyone in the household Walmart sells a 0deg Colman bag for $50 that and 5gal water jugs to store water. Blanket and comforters will work but a sleeping bag is the best . Store your water jugs before storm hits . Camping meals stock up
If you want the shitter bucket to smell better, add barn lime! A cup of barn lime will kill the smell for a couple days! You can buy it at a farm store of choice! Just thought you’ll should know!😉
I have a huge bank of water. Over 10 gallons of water. I have two liter bottles that I have filled with water then I added three to five drops of bleach. I didn't date the bottle 2 years past the date. When I reach the two year mark that water goes to the other side of my yard and that's going to be flushing water. This is my emergency supply That's not including all the water that I have around that is regular use stuff like distilled water and stuff like that see how dumpster dive when I find damaged bottles of water when I say damage I mean they're just out of shape and retail outlets do not wish to sell anything that has a slight deformity. I take that water home and I got a staging area and I stack it up and if I need it I use it. Then I have my everyday use gallon jugs I don't have running water in my house so I got to pay attention to what I use and I know my needs they increase greatly whenever I don't have running water. It's been 3 years since we had a freeze here that's three winners of carefree do as you please activity. Usually when we do get a freeze it's overnight. My practice throughout my entire adult life is to turn off my water drain my lines as much as possible then turn my water back on when the temperatures are 33° and rising. Sanitation well I use a camper for my number two I use bottles for my number one. When I get a jug that's pretty darn full I'll go to the drain and I'll pour it down the washout away from anything elsein other words this is not going to come in contact with food or places where I wash dishes. And since I dumpster dive I get canned goods all the time and when I catch a sale since I'm not spending all my money in the grocery stores I will capitalize on something that will store for a long time such as this year they had a beans for a dollar name brand dried beans I purchased over 50 lb. and some of you would say who wants to eat beans all the time and I would say the person who has no beans.
If your power is out and you don’t want to lose your items in the fridge, pack you sink, bathtub, ice chest with snow and put your items in it, if you have snow.
I use wet wipes and it works. I'm a former trucker and I learned that way how to deal with OFF GRID. Where I live 70380 I own campers and these are ideal for practicing off grid situations yet I'm told by my city that if I'm caught sleeping in my camper that I'll have to remove the camper within 3 days. Yet while this crisis is going on I was contacted and asked to reduce energy consumption. You can't have it both ways people you got to practice this stuff it doesn't just turn on overnight how to save energy how to survive doesn't just happen , you have to practice this stuff and you do it by getting in your camper or in your car or whatever it is you're going to use as your bug out location and you have to practice these things and it's best to practice at your home where if you need to make changes you can adjust right then and there and get everything just the way you need it so that when you do have the challenge in your face you know exactly what to do. You know exactly what to take and that way you're not overloaded with stuff these stupid rules that these cities have come up with is making us a weakened society . the pioneers didn't have any motel 6 to just put down the kickstand and go inside and enjoy the cable TV and internet. In fact they had weapons so they could deal with predators today no and all their wisdom they have unarmed the American citizen they have made it to wear we must be dependent on someone else at all times that's unacceptable you shouldn't have to pay to camp camping is practice for survival.
Stay off grid from the other 49 states and dont ask for regulations because smaller government is what is needed. And thank Ted Cruz for going on vacation rather than getting yall water because that would be socialism or communism
