That said, I've heard some people in the US have to wait until January for theirs? No thanks. If I was them, I'd cancel the preorder and try to find it in store somewhere. Even if you miss out on the Pixel Buds A-Series (which is the bonus in Australia, Canada and the US - we don't get the fancy Bose headphones like in Europe), if you need a new phone, I wouldn't wait three months just to get some free headphones

First, I love that you called the intro "pointless waffle" Second, I went with this one over the 6 pro. The price difference was too high for what the pro offered. Also, the 6 "feels" like a pixel to me and the pro feels like a Samsung.

even more amazing is the next iteration of it: auto screen-call. Nowadays, I rarely get robocalls on my 3xl. If I catch it at the right time, I'll see a notification saying assistant is shooshing the spammers :)
@@Pislik870 I've never had a curved display that didn't cause problems at some point. Not interested. Also just not a fan of how it looks unless you're looking at it directly in perfect lighting conditions. Side glare and color distortion annoy me. I wish companies would just stop.

agree 100% - ive got pixel 5 and daughter in law has 13promax - she agrees the photos are nearly always better from the pixel 5 but just 'doesn't like android'.. so sticking with the iphone
Great review and I love the off beat humour! I went for the Pixel 6, as I dislike curved screens, which seem much more fragile and cause odd reflections. Quite apart from that the extra features of the Pro model do not seem to warrant the huge price difference. The 6 still feels very premium (rubbish fingerprint reader aside) and gives the you the best Android experience. For £600 (including the excellent Pixel Buds) it's a real bargain.
Waiting on my 6 to arrive tomorrow but also waiting on my case to arrive as well. I'm surprised folks order phones based on the color. I wouldn't expect any phone to live if it were dropped from 4 feet onto concrete or asphalt. And I'm never going to be the guy who tests that theory out. There are cases on Amazon already for less than $20. Thanks for the great review and decidedly sarcastic sense of humor. Loved it.
It sure pack a lot of tech into a phone, I went for the pro purely because i didn't want any regrets to not buying the top model, but tbh the 6 would be a huge improvement to my great but ageing Pixel 3a XL and much better value than what the pro is. Looking forward to getting mine from Google!

My LG G6 is now six years old and I'm looking for something that isn't Apple or Samsung. I remember when the Pixel first came out and thought one more thing Google is getting it's hand into. But looking at all the reviews of the Pixel 6 I may seriously look into this model. I especially like the security aspect of this phone. I'm not a gamer or a "selfie person" so I don't think it's worth paying for the Pro when it doesn't matter to me about games. I'm used to a larger phone therefore the size doesn't scare me. Thanks for the video.
Call screening in the UK? Finally? Mind blown! That five year support is nice, too. I pre-ordered a pro (my Nokia 9 camera is hopeless I need to do something). Really useful review thanks. One thing that seems to vary a lot between reviewers is their view of battery life. Tech spurt said it was amazing, and yet MKBHD says its "average at best". When I search for written reviews it's the same story- some say it has great battery life and others put battery life as one of its negative aspects! Don't know who is right, or under what conditions the phone may have worse battery life!
Pixel 6 is similar to iPhone 13 - as in, not the absolute most powerful phone in the world, but it's plenty powerful enough, aesthetically beautiful, beautiful software, amazing camera, and something you're going to want to keep for years. Just a very satisfying all-rounder
I've just ordered mine, yes I'm always late to the party, and having watched this review I'm very excited to receive it. I am getting a big upgrade from the pixel 3a with this phone so it's reassuring to know I have made the right decision. I have watched so many of your videos and love your no nonsense reviews. I was tempted to switch to Samsung this time round (I have watched all your Samsung reviews) but the pixel 3a has been a superb phone, had it for 3 and a half years and it's still going strong, so decided to stay with google for that very reason. Happy New phone day to me!
Two things I liked about the review - Count Buckules and the fact that I'm not the only Deezer user in the UK! Other than that I'm glad to see the Pixel 6 seems like a decent phone, I uncharacteristically pre-ordered mine on launch day and I'm looking forward to getting my hands on it soon.
Ordered one for the wife simply because that bloody price is pure gold, particularly with the bose headphones deal right now. 5 years of security updates on top is the icing on the cake.
Good review. Glad to see reviewers using Genshin for a benchmark. It's incredibly demanding, especially on my Fold 3. The Pixel 6 should have a better time, since it has a smaller, lower res screen and a better GPU.
Mine arrived yesterday and it seems to be great. Only problem is that there appears to be compatibility issues with the DJI Fly app which means my drone is a £600 paperweight until DJI fixes that. Not a Google problem in the slightest though. Phone is lovely to use, glad I got it on our pre order

Thank you for not being one of the Tech Reviewer sheep who have today only released reviews of the Pixel 6 Pro... The Pixel 6 Pro is well out of my price range, but can run to the Pixel 6. Looks a great phone and very tempted, especially with the free Bose headphones 🎧 that are worth £300 on offer here in the UK.
200 pounds seems a reasonable value for the headphones since if you decide to sell it, you will sell it for approximately 150-180 pounds (wothout the warranty, proof of purchase etc..). Still brings the net price of the phone though
I ended up getting the Sorta Sunny Pro as I intend on using this for years to come, and the telephoto lens and better screen as well as the increased RAM I thought would be handy in the future. My favourite colour is definitely the Sorta Seafoam on the regular 6 though, and with the £599 price the regular one is definitely the better deal, it's a lot of phone for the money. It's absolutely huge compared to my old Pixel 2 though, and although screens with barely any bezel at all are all the rage now I actually liked the Pixel 2's forward facing stereo speakers. When I was considering the Pixel 5 a few months ago I took my first look at the 6's camera bar and thought "nah, not for me", but it's really grown on me, I don't mind a big bar if it has the hardware and especially the software to make it worthwhile, since I use my Pixel 2 for mostly RUclips, web browsing and photos the camera is a big tickbox for my upgrade.
Really disappointed with the Pixel 6 if I'm honest. Ordered one to replace my ageing Huawei P30 pro and it's on it's way back after just a day. Fingerprint scanner never works if you're one of the 80% that use a screen protector, battery life is mediocre at best, the software is quite buggy in its current state, it doesn't work at all with my Huawei watch (half expected this but wouldn't be a massive issue if they'd released a pixel watch), the bezels are unacceptable in 2021 and in general, just doesn't feel like an upgrade from anything released in the last 2 years. Only good points I can give it are the screen refresh rate makes a big difference, new design is spot on and it's cheap. Honestly though, unless you're upgrading from a 5 year old phone, don't bother yet, nowhere near as good as they're hyped up to be. I'd of loved to try the Pro but the extra cost vs the problems it'd solve, it's really not worth it! Shame really as the wow factor when I took it out of the box was priceless...

The Pixel 6 and 6 Pro people say are full of glitches and the battery life is not very good. There are also problems with over heating and a bad finger print sensor. Google has announced that they will soon release an update for the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro with over 100 fixes. Best wait to see if the update handles the issues. Shame they dumped a phone with so many issues, they must have known!

The one I’ve been waiting for 📱❤️ Like yourself Spurt Man I wish it was slightly smaller. Maybe a 5.8 to 6 inch model. Other changes I would’ve made would be a Matte back to match the sides and coloured buttons like previous Google phones.
Most flagships are massive and I think Google tried to mimic that. Also everybody buys a case anyway. So Google made a frosted case for the pixel 6 series

I was sure to get the iPhone 13 Pro Max, but then the release of the Pixel 6 Pro made things complicated. I am definitely going to watch/read reviews before deciding which phone to get.
First day of use after switching back to Android after 2 years of iPhone 11: Really good first impressions, 90Hz is so good... 2 annoying bugs so far, RUclips gesture swipe up to go fullscreen works and then automatically goes back to the small window. After 10 tries started to work again. Binance app refreshes when touch&holding the graph. Big Android 12 regression - turning wifi on/off takes an extra tap 😭

Just Ordered the pixel 6, it's an upgrade on my Huawei p30 Pro I've had for 2 years, and this was a similar price back then. Can't wait for the 28th, and especially happy not to be spending a grand on an s21 or iPhone! £599 seems like a steal to me 👌🏼
Very happy with mine after a month. Great camera & battery. Finger printer reader is ok, just slightly slower, prob stops me looking at the phone every two seconds.
This device supposed to bring the main google services to the forefront. The problem is that as a not us citizen, I don't have an access to the most of the services that google is bringing with this device. Services like native google assistant, call screening and others aren't avaliable for me

Yeah the tele is the only reason I'd go with the pro. Nervous about the curved screen. I think I'll save the $300 and slap on a Moment lens if needed.

Two things I liked about the review - Count Buckules and the fact that I'm not the only Deezer user in the UK! Other than that I'm glad to see the Pixel 6 seems like a decent phone, I uncharacteristically pre-ordered mine on launch day and I'm looking forward to getting my hands on it soon.

5 years of security updates on top is the icing on the cake.
Call screen is an amazing feature that has been here since the Pixel 3. I use it all the time.

Good review. Glad to see reviewers using Genshin for a benchmark. It's incredibly demanding, especially on my Fold 3. The Pixel 6 should have a better time, since it has a smaller, lower res screen and a better GPU.
Mine arrived yesterday and it seems to be great. Only problem is that there appears to be compatibility issues with the DJI Fly app which means my drone is a £600 paperweight until DJI fixes that. Not a Google problem in the slightest though.
Phone is lovely to use, glad I got it on our pre order

I have been leaning to purchase 6 because of the flat display and smaller size. So far for the Pixel Pro 6 I have heard two reviewers say their display broke at time of filming their reviews ... enough said lol

The Pixel 6 Pro is well out of my price range, but can run to the Pixel 6.
Looks a great phone and very tempted, especially with the free Bose headphones 🎧 that are worth £300 on offer here in the UK.
200 pounds seems a reasonable value for the headphones since if you decide to sell it, you will sell it for approximately 150-180 pounds (wothout the warranty, proof of purchase etc..). Still brings the net price of the phone though
I ended up getting the Sorta Sunny Pro as I intend on using this for years to come, and the telephoto lens and better screen as well as the increased RAM I thought would be handy in the future.
My favourite colour is definitely the Sorta Seafoam on the regular 6 though, and with the £599 price the regular one is definitely the better deal, it's a lot of phone for the money.
It's absolutely huge compared to my old Pixel 2 though, and although screens with barely any bezel at all are all the rage now I actually liked the Pixel 2's forward facing stereo speakers.
When I was considering the Pixel 5 a few months ago I took my first look at the 6's camera bar and thought "nah, not for me", but it's really grown on me, I don't mind a big bar if it has the hardware and especially the software to make it worthwhile, since I use my Pixel 2 for mostly RUclips, web browsing and photos the camera is a big tickbox for my upgrade.
Really disappointed with the Pixel 6 if I'm honest. Ordered one to replace my ageing Huawei P30 pro and it's on it's way back after just a day. Fingerprint scanner never works if you're one of the 80% that use a screen protector, battery life is mediocre at best, the software is quite buggy in its current state, it doesn't work at all with my Huawei watch (half expected this but wouldn't be a massive issue if they'd released a pixel watch), the bezels are unacceptable in 2021 and in general, just doesn't feel like an upgrade from anything released in the last 2 years. Only good points I can give it are the screen refresh rate makes a big difference, new design is spot on and it's cheap. Honestly though, unless you're upgrading from a 5 year old phone, don't bother yet, nowhere near as good as they're hyped up to be. I'd of loved to try the Pro but the extra cost vs the problems it'd solve, it's really not worth it! Shame really as the wow factor when I took it out of the box was priceless...
Ahhhh, I see you did your testing in York. Fantastic city to live in & visit! I have Pre Ordered the Pro, looking forward to the upgrade, testing it & having a phone that will last me for a number of years.
The Pixel 6 and 6 Pro people say are full of glitches and the battery life is not very good. There are also problems with over heating and a bad finger print sensor. Google has announced that they will soon release an update for the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro with over 100 fixes. Best wait to see if the update handles the issues. Shame they dumped a phone with so many issues, they must have known!

The one I’ve been waiting for 📱❤️ Like yourself Spurt Man I wish it was slightly smaller. Maybe a 5.8 to 6 inch model. Other changes I would’ve made would be a Matte back to match the sides and coloured buttons like previous Google phones.
Most flagships are massive and I think Google tried to mimic that. Also everybody buys a case anyway. So Google made a frosted case for the pixel 6 series
@@bodiminds6571 I get the flagship comment but they have the pro version as that at 6.7 inch. I really do think the regular version should have been slightly smaller. I have ordered a frosted case from Google also.

I don’t understand the charge speed focus. “Fast charging” for the pixel 1 and 2 YEARS ago was like 50% in 15 minutes. Who needs faster than that?
I was sure to get the iPhone 13 Pro Max, but then the release of the Pixel 6 Pro made things complicated. I am definitely going to watch/read reviews before deciding which phone to get.

First day of use after switching back to Android after 2 years of iPhone 11: Really good first impressions, 90Hz is so good... 2 annoying bugs so far, RUclips gesture swipe up to go fullscreen works and then automatically goes back to the small window. After 10 tries started to work again. Binance app refreshes when touch&holding the graph. Big Android 12 regression - turning wifi on/off takes an extra tap 😭

Just Ordered the pixel 6, it's an upgrade on my Huawei p30 Pro I've had for 2 years, and this was a similar price back then. Can't wait for the 28th, and especially happy not to be spending a grand on an s21 or iPhone! £599 seems like a steal to me 👌🏼

You've convinced me to switch from Samsung to the Pixel 6 for my next phone. I am attracted to the stock android experience and security updates.
I am still on the Pixel 2 XL and love it, but I'm thinking about taking the dive to 6 for Android 12 and the new camera hardware.
Very happy with mine after a month. Great camera & battery. Finger printer reader is ok, just slightly slower, prob stops me looking at the phone every two seconds.
Did you encounter any heating issues?

This device supposed to bring the main google services to the forefront. The problem is that as a not us citizen, I don't have an access to the most of the services that google is bringing with this device.
Services like native google assistant, call screening and others aren't avaliable for me
