On my LMK carb, it was a fiber washer. They do fail as they age. You can get an assortment kit from Princess Auto/Harbor Freight. It's a lifetime supply!
Nah man, I didn't do a disassembly video of this carb. Honestly I forgot and it was in pretty good shape. Disassembly is just reverse of assembly that you see in this video lol. It's a very simple carb and doesn't have many parts.
I struggled to learn this carb. However, the trick is to just clean everything and reassemble. Other parts that might need replacing include the pin and seat. All not a big deal, but installing and adjusting for a new block was a pain. Not hard, just a number of steps that you have to follow from the service manual. Seeing the install and adjustments to get the correct RPMs at idle and full on; and to ensure the correct air/fuel mixture would have been a great add. Also, not many pull the Welch plug to clean the two small idle jets.
Your little donut gasket buried down inside where the float valve point seats is either missing or damaged - replace it. Without this, the fuel pours into the engine constantly.
6 1/2 turns just what i needed...yay!
Was this a Kohler Courage 18 perhaps? Any additional learnings you can provide would be great. LMK, lol.
I had a bad gasket and just used an O-ring to seal it...works great no waiting for part....!

What about the plastic washer on top of the solenoid under the rubber stopper? Is it necessary?

I keep doing this on my carb but doesn't fix it...ordered a new one online...very poor design should be recalled for fire hazard it causes...
Fire hazard? Serious? What happened?
