Some monospace fonts:
- Jetbrains Mono: fantastic free general-purpose monospace font, more wide, readable and friendly
- Iosevka: fantastic free general-purpose monospace font, more narrow/efficient and extremely customizable (can mimic many popular fonts)
- Berkeley Mono: probably the best paid monospace font, with some nice retro looks
- Scientifica: cute small pixel font
There are many more, but these are the ones I'd recommend people look at first if they are looking for a good programming font.

Really love Departure, though I'm using Berkeley Mono (non-open source) for my terminal and IDEs. For a general use monospace font for web browsers and in documents, IBM Plex Mono (since I use IBM Plex for everything else).
