    thank you for these four techniques and your instructions. I always want to paint in the whole shape and that's exactly what I shouldn't do. watching you paint the colors on the last exercise was great! Thank you.

    The first lesson was fascinating..but left the doubt that planning a painting first of all reqd
    Knowledge if the basics.
    As this too is slowly being demonstrated..this whole technique is taking on a new dimension..
    Thanks so much .

    Another good "masking" technique is to use a coloured pencil (white or light-toned) to protect the areas as the wax or oil repels the water when you paint.

    I have always understood that watercolour paper needs to be soaked and taped to a board to dry. When I paint on any larger paper I always get buckles in the paper. HELP!! I unusually am using 120lb

    • @peterwoolleyartist
      @peterwoolleyartist  2 года назад +1

      140lbs paper should be your minimum weight - but only up to about quarter-imperial size. Beyond that, you should perhaps consider upgrading to a heavier paper... I use 200lbs Saunders Waterford Rough and never have to stretch my paper.
