I saw Séamus play the Uilleann Pipes many times during the 60's..Thanks to Seamus and his comrades the Uilleann Pipes are now being played all over the world. What a wonderful musician he was as was his late daughter Catherine Ennis R.I.P.
GREAT STUFF THATS MUSIC LIKE RAYMOND ROLAND AND ALL THEM OUTSTANDING MUSICIANS BORN WITH THEM NEVER B LIKES AGAIN ETERNAL REST AND 1000 WORLDS OF HAPPINESS TO ALL THE M THAT HAS PASSED ON
The late Seamus Ennis RIP was undervalued as a piper His seeming effortless transition from the Bucks into The Sligo Maid is truly remarkable He is also a multi instrumentalist
The Bucks of Oranmore is a popular name for the tune. "Greig's pipes" is a very similar sounding 18th century tune from Scotland. Another source says that the bucks originally derived from the 18th century tune "Miss Louisa Campbell's delight" now more commonly called Lucy Campbell's (reel).
The chanter and drones would not be in the same tuning. Pipes and drones are needed for solo playing. Bands are a different story, but better to play a different instrument. They only sound out of tune if you are limited to tempered scale instruments etc.

shame to think his pipes will burn in a nuclear war and the mona lisa,if we had to fight for anything i would fight against these war mongers
I'm Irish.
The "Bucks of Oranmore" is most likely the Scottish tune "The Bucks of Aranmore." Seamus was a great great Uilleann Piper.

Look at his fingers.
I wonder what would happen if you autotuned this

Changing the tuning in the recording would be a false representation of how the pipes should sound. A bit like airbrushing in magazines.
