Just the other day my brother and I were talking about how they absolutely dropped the ball on Raifort and how cool a full storyline with her could have been. She was so clearly set up to be more than what she ended up being.
And if she had a legendary, I feel like Spectrier or Galarian Moltres would fit her vibe really well.
An international criminal could have been an epic replacement for Snacksworth. Imagine the reason for the legendaries just randomly roaming around Paldea was because they were lured there, but just as a distraction for her to enter area zero unnoticed to use the Time Machine. Would also make for a better reason for the paradox beasts to just suddenly appear
1:53 I think the details on her chest area are more like tassels than feathers? The dangly bits on cowboy outfits, whatever those are called. Actually, her whole outfit gives me cowboy vibes especially the bootcut jeans. AND, if you did want to tie her to Alola, there is that one little cowgirl kahuna with the Mudsdale (who does actually have a similar skin tone to Raifort if I recall)
If they do want to tie Raifort to any pre-existing character, I could honestly also see perhaps a semi-distant relation to Iris... she wouldn't be the only Cowboy in Unova...

I'm hoping every time I open up Legends Arceus that a random update will be there too.
I'd love it if they released a bunch of DLC. Some free, some paid, for both Arceus and S/V in this year if we won't be getting anything new until Z-A next year. That remains to be seen but I wouldn't be opposed to some new game elements/stories that could build into the next games

@@jockson7574 give me some more diverse teams to fight in Arceus from preexisting NPCs, make some random ones up/have a "traveler" show up. I'm happy there.
If they gave us another paid one in S/V with some good story I'm with it. If they added in some small additional stuff with teachers and/or DLC characters with a free update I very much agree with this potentially happening out of everything.
Either way, both of these games were great and I can't wait to see where these concepts take them and us

Speaking of "scrapped", the concept world has the player looking like the SM girl player trainer, hinting that the school setting is a late idea. School settings limit the adventuring too much to the point you can not have your character change out of his uniform even after class is over.
The Outfits have nothing to do with adventuring but ok

@@zzeroara9511 When you are out into the city, you kind of want to buy and wear different clothes as something to do with the money you earned along the way. If I wish to have a character to stay in the clothes for the rest of the game, having them be distinctive to give me a reason why I want to play as a male or female.
I’ve never been the first one but I love Raifort and how she’s a bit shady it makes for an interesting character I wish there was more to
If you invite her to the blueberry club room she has some interesting dialogues as well, about you being her minion to conquer stuff (something like that)
She also tries to sacrifice Jacq in the dialogue between them in the blue Barry academy club room.

Watched a few Raifort videos, and I'm firmly convinced that she is a descendant of or IS the original monarch who sought out the ruinous treasures from the traveling merchant. The king was said to shower the merchant in coins, and we frequently encounter ghost coin Pokémon in ruins spread throughout the region. When she trades you a Pokémon in the BB League Club room, what does she give you?

Oooooh, that's a pretty fun idea. I myself am fond of the idea of an immortal character being a history teacher, such as Jeanne from Bayonetta.
If you complete Renfords blueberry story she mentions that she still has a use for you after she visits the Abyssal Ruins.
Maybe there is an undiscovered artifact there for the ruinous Pokémon.
I like that they left her background and motives ambiguous. It makes her seem more like she really is just a history teacher that loves the subject and would do anything to uncover the truths of the past, while at the same time having her make remarks like using Jacq as a human sacrifice but you can't tell if she's serious or not.
Either way I doubt the scrapped storyline would've gone all out and painted her as a villain, and would've instead been more along the lines of Briar where she's not actually a bad person but her obsessions lead her to make mistakes that landed her in hot water. Then once she's been exposed, she'd tell her side of the story with the sad Arven music causing everyone to sympathize and Clavell would probably decide to keep her secret so she wouldn't just disappear from the game.
I'm so tired of bad guys and that stupid music, and they are suddenly redeemed also it's called, "Emotion"
@@WildWeavile That was only like one of three that played throughout the game, but I understand what you meant. Still, the redemption of jilted characters that lashed out was clearly a theme in SV, what's wrong with that lol. The point was that not everything is black and white or simply good vs bad, and that some people can deserve forgiveness. They hadn't really done something like that before with a major antagonist that's just a normal person. Team Star is lowkey a rehash of Team Skull in that regard, but I assume you're more so talking about Kieran, which is who I'm referring to. Besides, those are like the only two storylines that had redemptions so I'm not sure what you're on about. Are you just more of a fan of the world ending supervillain storylines they usually do?
Also, no it's not. If you're referring to whatever is uploaded on RUclips from 2022, those titles are all made up by people who rip the OST from the game. I didn't mention a title at all because I know most people don't actually buy or download official OST releases and familiarize themselves with titles (which are also usually fan translations, if that), it's easier to just describe what plays when in a comment that isn't about the OST specifically lol.

I really would have liked this! Some of her dialogue was suspicious, but man, her team went right over my head! I really liked the DLCs we did get, but it would have been cool to wrap it up fully back in Paldea.

I'd love it if she became a true Villain (her team really hints at that) if they make a third game where past and future get tied together/she ends up as an enemy for the Paldean Legends game in the future

I feel like either she is the mythical Pokémon that was once with Orgerpon, or she will have found the other mythical or she knows where it may be resting.
Raifort is not only a criminal, she got hexed because of that. If you go through the Indigo Disc Dialogues with her, Rhyme tells her right away she is hexed and Raifort answers, that this may happened because she raided a tomb. Even her ornaments don't seem to be hers (Brassius calls her out but she tries to change the subject). She is an obvious thief, who even gives the player Nasty Plot, hoping it makes our caught Ruinous Quartett go crazy so she can catch them (and maybe destroy Paldea in the process).
4:46-5:01 i like the idea of the Player and their friends (Nemona,Arven, Penny,Kieran,and Carmine),and Looker and Annabelle trying to find raifort/stop her/battle her/capture her etc,for the crimes she's comminted,and wanting to have the ruinous pokemon for some unknown evil plans
If you talk to her in the club room she mentions going to the Abyssal Ruins. That would have been such a cool DLC.

I think raifort would have a lot of info and knowledge on all the legends and mythical pokemons

I feel like the plot was pretty straight forward in the story you talk to mrs raifort claims to have discovered a new ruinous member far stronger than the other in some location to keep simple area zero so you travel down and before you catch mrs raifort says she already cought it and battles you to take the rest you beat her find the treasure elsewere and catch it

I’m so sad scarlet and violet are over… I wish there was tons of little stories going into all the teachers and side characters etc… game was so much fun

I really think that Scarlet and violet do feel like they are missing something. Like the time mechine not being usable but also no battle facility. I hope we get a update soon! We need more side quests and other things to do.
Galarian Articuno's "mask" would fit perfectly with a black and purple international art thief style outfit, where Raifort could don a similar mask. It would also match a lot of her teams colors as well as her hair, and it's pretty in character for a dark-type themed trainer to be up to no good 👍👍 10/10 love it
Also with there being no "evil" team in this game, having an actual criminal be a secret boss would be kinda awesome.

It would’ve been great if the folks from the blueberry academy could’ve joined the tournament, or we got an alternative one kinda like the one in Black/White 2
Raifort probably has been in some of the previous evil organizations, those being defeated by kids/teenagers who now have legendary pokemon. So now that the trainer from scarlet and violet also has them, she is thinking of a plan to do next. Since she always comes across kids that can easily get the legendaries before her.

Maybe Raifort is from an un-named region based in or around china. Where she learned of the ruinous legendaries and is now wanting to claim them for herself. Also, I believe that the story of these legendaries is that they were gifted to the king of Paldea in olden day by an empire, and soon after the kingdom of Paldea crumbled. I’m probably wrong about that though.
i think khu get the idea of raifort as a criminal, i think he was talking about chalce in pokemon horizons anime, which is a member of the explorers and a teacher at the naranja academy, add more that raifort wasn't shown in anime yet. and yeah chalce of horizons could be the criminal khu talking about and raifort just plotting something to get the evil quartet for herself but as you the protagonist the one who caught them. she just let you to take em.
Oddly the theory that Ttar went with when he talked about a Golden Gorilla made me think that the Ruin Pokemon should have been a related thing to them...

Tbh, Marshadow not being in the games feels weird to me. I feel like she would have had Marshadow on her team as an ace or Tera mon
raifort had the "galarian" birds, and when you beat her you can catch them and they all have pokedex entries like "zapdos the strong legs pokemon When its feathers rub together, they produce a crackling sound like the zapping of electricity. That's why this Pokémon is called Zapdos. any similarities to zapdos is entirely coincidental."

I've always been suspicious of Raifort because of the dialogue you mentioned before, and I got the feeling that maybe she was connected to Colress somehow. At first I thought she was Colress because when she talks to you she taps on her arm like she's typing on a keyboard. Colress does the same as he's talking to you. Like They're both recording their convo with you for their research. Her having a Zoroark lead on her team made it all the more likely that she was at least connected to Unova for me.
They're both obsessed with pokemon beyond the casual scope, and willing to walk a Grey moral line to get knowledge. Colress wants to unlock hidden potential, even if it means working with an evil team. And Raifort wants to gather legendaries that are ruinous in nature, and she sends a student after them.
At the end of the day, it's still debated on whether Colress was actually a bad guy, and it's pretty clear now that Raifort has at least some nefarious desires, so maybe they are in some sort of secret group we haven't met yet. Like one filled with morally Grey characters that are in search of knowledge, hence the arm typing.
She may not be wearing it now because she's playing a school teacher, but it's natural to her now. Maybe she just knows Colress as a fellow intellectual. My side thought is that she and Colress are Amarys' parents. Which would explain her gen 5 connection, and her robotic like nature. No one said they had to be gym leader kids. Also I think she (amarys) is the one that Khu thinks holds the "secrets to the next game, if her parents are in fact Colress and Raifort. Which would give her lots of knowledgeable secrets
I liked her the most out of all of the teachers because she seemed to be one of the ones with the most personality. Though in the DLC when you invite her to the clubhouse doesn't she say some shady things? I can't remember correctly, but I had a feeling she had a bit more to her that made me question her morals
Unless we see a plot like that in the anime or manga, since those sometimes pick up dropped story-elements, I doubt this was ever actually a thing. For one exactly because she appears in the Academys post-game tournament, if she was going to disappear after the DLC, including from that tournament, then why add her to it in the first place? They could've had her sit out due to some pretext like how some others that couldn't be battled anymore until the DLC, even if that would've made her more sus, but it's not like Pokemon is known for its subtle storytelling.
As things stand she's simply a VERY zealous researcher that's fascinated by ancient history, but the most "criminal" thing she says is how she wants to explore the great crater of Paldea or in the DLC about how if she had our kind of power she'd eventually get unrestricted access to all kinds of tombs and ruins... and even those don't have to imply anything criminal.
In general she just seems to mostly reference the darker aspects of history, which is probably why she uses the Pokemon that she does, but that's about it.
And again, I don't get how He would've even gotten that information. Like, it's not like he has a source at GF, at best he has a source in the Chinese localization-team and even then I've seen people say that he just gets his info from a Chinese forum. If he learned of this, especially for the DLC, it would've been scrapped incredibly late in development yet aside from her being kinda a bit sus there's no remnants of this "scrapped storyline" in the games... and that after GF has once again proven during the DLCs release that they're not exactly the best at scrubbing their files.

We're going to see Raifort's Ancestor in the Ultra Beast ZA. It's a crime she got sidelined, amazing design and character I honestly hope we get to see her again. Briar is the earnest obsession and I'm glad she got to be that and have a moment of pure joy, would have been sad if she turned out to be after Terapagos to use it.

I thought of the same shit while playing. We didn't get an evil team in the game. No Team Star doesn't count. If anything, she is one of 'the Explorers' from Pokemon Horizons...
SV lacked alot in the story department... like multiple characters are hinted at being in a group that explored area zero, but nothing came of it... except a professor dieing... which is still sus, Heath stuff is sus.

Whenever I think about the S/V's wasted potential I get upset. The general closing to the plot is simplistic and completely unsatisfactory.
GF/TPC built such a profound, intricate and interesting mystery surrounding the concept of Light, Hexagons, Stars, Crystals, Area Zero along with its Tablets, Symbols and Symbolisms, the Crystal Lake and delivered just too little afterwards. The DLCs raised more questions than provided answers.
Hopefully the anime or a Legends-Style game will address these issues...
I don’t remember the exact wording or if this is true; but I read in a random article why pokefreak likes to leave things open ended, one dev said it’s more fun to guess and theorize then straight up getting the answer. That is how they grew up so that’s why there are a lot of questions unanswered
