- Mixed waste has been identified as a potentially dangerous carrier of the COVID-19 virus, right from its generation to collection and subsequent disposal. Pollution Control Boards at State and Central level in India are developing several guidelines to promote proper waste management amidst the pandemic, while leveraging existing programs like the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. Zero-waste facilities are well positioned to meet the guidelines for disease control while reducing landfill waste by 90%. About the Speakers:
Shobha Raghavan is Chief Operating Officer at Saahas Zero Waste where she leads the operational strategy to ensure growth and scale-up of a niche industry. She also connects actively with her community to build waste champions.
Hiren Bhagat is a Senior Associate Director at Environmental Design Solutions [EDS] ,Mumbai where he leads the Zero Waste division. A LEED AP, WELL AP and a TRUE Advisor, he specializes in Building Energy Efficiency, Green building design, Occupant Health & Wellness and Zero Waste Facility Operations. He has worked on more than 120 projects for developers, multinational banks, IT companies, housing and hospitality industry.
