Fantastic video Graham, as always a pleasure to walk with the team. Not sure I'd be up for the scrabbles up to Dow Crag, that you mention in the video but certainly one to capture with a drone.
Great video of your hike capturing the essence of the wonderful Coniston fells. Brought back fond memories doing the same fells whilst based at the Coppermine cottages. Thank you.
Another cracking video Graham. That's a hell of a route too. Prison band was killer last time i did it from Swirl How to Wetherlam and back again. Proves you are still in your prime 😉
Amazing hike and video, Graham. I'd rather watch 31 minutes of this than all the other crud on the tv! Experience is such a great asset, having been there before and knowing the paths and routes to take and not take. When you get a weather day like that you have to take advantage of it and boy did you do that. Well done to all in the group. Regards, Ashley
It drives me nuts £8 to have your car suspension tested to the limit, disgraceful is an understatement! On a positive note the weather was amazing, all I got was mist and gale force winds last year when I was there and paid £8 for the privilege (yes still angry about it lol). Nice to see the views I missed and they were superb, I must go back and I loved the moody clouds that sat on the High Fells. Sad to see the memorial of the Halifax that crashed but nice to see they are remembered but Grey Friar gave me a LOL with all the stomach sucking in photos 😂. What a nice summit cairn Brim Fell is and you must have been going a canny clip mind if you left Mary behind in your wake 😳. Long walk back to the car park and £8 is good value for a day out but when people charge for parking, I want a flat park and a toilet as well. Very enjoyable watch, cheers Alan
Wow Alan, great comment mate thanks. Having recently retired like yourself I find, (like everyone else) prices have gone crazy and through the roof, being ripped off by councils and Car parking companies and organisations behind them really is the final straw and it really pisses me off, as you say paying to have the floor pan crunched in your motor. Angry, moaning, Old fat bloke...out ✌
Love the handle. It's a Garmin Dakota 20. Knocking on a bit now but still for sale. I would imagine there are more sophisticated ones out there now but the Dakota 20 can do all that's needed while out touring
Not quite sure what you mean by that, but we have loads of local walks at Southend-on-Sea, and we go up North usually to the Lake District about 6-7 times a year. Anyone is welcome to join us on our walks/Hikes. We have a group page on Facebook which is where we communicate. Just a small group but open to all... join in Gary
