I broke my tape today and it spun back inside itself and proceeded to spin wildly inside itself for a few seconds. When I opened it up to repair it and try to attach the tape together again, I found the spring was coiling the opposite direction and spitting out the tape rather than retracting it. Still trying to figure out how this has happened.
@@Woodified Yep the entire length. I think I've figured it out based on some other comments. It's wound past its recoil point and so needs to be rewound to the point where it starts to retract rather than repulse. Going to give it a try tonight. Let you know how it goes.
