The effects, the breathing, the structure, are just not realistic. If you want to sing it live, you are going to have to rearrange it. If you want to play it with the same production that is on the album, you are going to need help. I mean, proffesional rock bands change riffs on guitars for live playing because what they recorded is unplayable standing up. And thats just one example. And yes, jumping around and singing is not going to happen unless you limit your choreography. If you want it both ways you will need to compromise. And unfortunately, a new live arrangement to suit every purpose (and lets not even talk about a live band to match) is also way more expensive that one choreography and backtrack to use everywhere, and we all know that if kpop companies are very good at something it is at being greedy. On a more psoitive note, it also makes life a bit easier for a lot of already overworked and, sometimes, underpaid idols. People need to realize that kpop has its own standarsd and caracteristics that are unlike foreign live experiences.
You can really tell here when she’s singing live/when she’s letting the backtrack take over. The live parts sound sound great (there are definitely times she’s letting the backtrack do the work, but it doesn’t seem to be based on anything other than she needs time to catch her breath while doing choreo. This whole song seems well within her live singing-wheelhouse)
Yuqi is so good at her solo performances! I only just became a fan of (G)-idle but she is killing it! I am becoming a huge fan because of her natural charisma and great vocals
I love the way she dances, with that kick, the camera shaking, and then the rock-paper-scissors sequence, which she wins in the end. She's having fun and literally sets the stage on fire! ❤🔥❤🔥
If that doesn't prove that she got vocals I don't know what does. When she slaps her mic picks it 0:53 up and you can hear it.and at the end you can hear the backup dancers clapping when she was squatting 2:05
This is a great solo debut by Yuqi. FREAK is a good song. It has good choreography. She is an incredible artist. She is so freaking beautiful and talented. ❤
AFAIK, music shows on TV did not support full live performances e.g. live band arrangements even if it is said "live" like KBS Music Bank. The show only supports limited technical and technology options whether the performer is fully lipsync or live using standard backtracks. Most of the show shooting was taken before the on-air schedule. Of course, there will be some post-production and versions e.g. the Fan Cam or Artist Individual Focus. In this video version, YUQI sings live on most parts of her song using standard backtracks.
