It wasn't Jones, it was the situation. You can still do worse than Daniel Jones, and no team wants that. But having made the divisional round, the odds were low of drafting a prospect better than him, and they weren't likely finding anyone better on the market, either. You can't tank right after winning a playoff game, or you lose the locker room. It was the perfect storm of reasons to still need Jones, and Jones' agent wasn't backing down from QB1 money. So the Giants essentially had their hand forced, and they overpaid to keep the upswing going.

I remember this one NFC Championship game, the QB was just determined to get the ball to this one guy, a home town hero who played his highschool, college, and now professional ball in more or less the same area. Just living the dream. and the QB kept trying to force him the ball and it kept getting picked off. a bunch of people got disgusted and left, a playoff game, tickets going for 5x face value, and they left. Well the good guys won in the most hilarious way possible, an OT walkoff TD to the guy they spent all day trying to force feed, after a 4th quarter of just improbable shit. Man those fans of the losers just they had to be dying. And I have been laughing for so many fucking years.... can you imagine their faces? hahaha. You've failed to understand what they're saying. It's about remembering that there's a person under that helmet. If you boo them on the field for performing badly, that's understandable. But if you're going out of your way to boo and harass them off the field when they have done literally nothing in their everyday life to deserve it, you're just being a dick then. Think of it like if you served someone a dish poorly cooked at a restaurant and the person waited until after work was done to find and harass you. That is basically what people are doing to Daniel Jones.

As a 40+ yrs Giants fan I can agree it was in bad taste to be boo'd outside the game, but this is NY, the Fans are passionate and brutal at the same time. IMO Jones deserves every boo and criticism he's getting if not deserves more. Since being rewarded for 1 mediocre season he's thrown more pick sixes (3) than TD's to his own team (2). Every year non stop excuses for him. Done watching this dumpster fire till he's glued to the bench
