    I've been fascinated by the Golden Eagle since a youngster.There is a place in Wyo where a Golden and Bald Eagle share the same territory.Have been told this is not possible many times. But these two different species have coexisted as long as I can remember.Each of their 2 nests are less than a mile apart.They live, hunt and rear young literally in sight of ea other. Every year I chk the nests for young and every year there are birds in the nest and by early summer the young have fledged.

    I can’t believe the number of people who are fussing about a little transmitter being attached to a great big eagle! Maybe they’d prefer to watch a programme about ostriches, at least they’d know where to put their heads instead of mouthing off ignorant opinions.

I am working on getting a LIVE streaming camera on the nest to help show that Goldens as well as Balds are abundant here in NY... ;-)

      You are aware the bird is under the threat of extinction, if they just leave them alone they won’t be able to learn anything about them and won’t be able to monitor their population. If you were under the threat of extinction I’m sure you’d do whatever it took to survive and they probably would too, even if it meant being a bit uncomfortable for a little while.

    • @smallestcharles
      @smallestcharles 3 года назад

      There’s many other animals that have “survived for a long long time on their own” and recently because of human activity have become completely extinct. There’s many threats facing this species, and just because they’ve been able to survive on their own for a long long time that doesn’t mean they are able to survive on their own in this rapidly urbanizing and deadly human environment.
