argh... bowdler attack vs my sicilian just reminds me of the Smith-Morra...very disruptive to my normal developing moves... let me check my databases and see how good I've done against it.
I have to say... no one has ever played 3.Qe2 against me... EVER... which is kinda surprising... I used to play Sicilian a TON from 900-1600... I've played against the Bowdler around 700 times (it shocked me at first, but I think that overall White lacked the theory necessary to make this is viable opening outside of beginning tricks). For example, after : 1.e4 c5 2. Bc4 e6 3.Nf3 Nc6 4.Nc3 Be7 (I learned this from experience to avoid e5 pawn push early complication) 5.d3 Nf6.
These were all top played moves. SF says Black is very slightly better but mostly equal. You wouldn't believe how many ppl blundered 6.Be3 which allows pawn to d4 to completely destroy them
