      Congrats Big Son. I love reading about an L110 with lots of hours.I have you slightly beat on hours. Bought mine in 2003. It has 1034.8 hours on it. Garage kept. The Kohler Command 17.5 will not die. I did have to replace the deck twice due to rust. No major repairs to the engine. The fuel solenoid finally died and I replaced it over the winter. I almost eliminated it completely but the "stock" purist in me almost cried so I put another on. Ridicules, I know! Also, after 20 years, for the first time, ever, changed the transaxil fluid. Not too much of a pain in the ass but she does move a quicker.

      @@gottaloveit6993 How awesome is this! Would you believe I purchased this mower for spare parts 4 years ago to keep my L111 going but when I got to the guys house and saw the shape it was in I immediately knew it was the one, The seller had taken extremely good care of the machine deck and body were in great shape he sold it because he said it stop moving come to find out! One of the drive pulleys was cracked and the belt was slightly off pulley I've been using it every since😊 sold the l111 because the body was in rough shape but engine was good. So when I see these L110 still working I gets EXCITED 🤣👍🏾💯

    Scary post mid 90's JD, though the warning is sincerely appreciated. Neat learning about even so and maybe is a nice hydro design at least with the pedal style. I'm not really into JD's, though good engine and who knows what for in the future.
    I guess there is some certain welder machine that restores the lead acid batteries somehow like Sweet Project Cars and maybe another channel or two claims. Magical pulse inverter model frequency with the secret waveform sauce at the right potential and current or something? $10 core gift cert at Menards has been my experience.
    Wondering about custom fab stuff parts for those older JD's as I read and hear most complain about the replacement parts being crazy sky high?

    • @jafinch78
      @jafinch78 Год назад

      @@NubsWithGuns Had to try and might have to try again when I get the inverter welder going, why not? Amazingly, seems to work for the NiCd's from my experience about 20% of the time using the old transformer based design. I made a short on my channel, at least I think I got that up. I know a few I haven't yet. Anyways, reduced the internal resistance on all but the good ones and the good ones only bumped up their internal resistance a hair. I guess for NiCd's is a known thing to do to break up the larger crystal dendrites that form. Surprised me actually for those and I wound up getting better improved performance from none, like literally two tested 0.0V. I don't know about the lead acid however. Once those are discharged to under voltage maybe more than twice or a few times, they're gone'rs.

    • @jafinch78
      @jafinch78 Год назад

      @@NubsWithGuns Right and reminds me I just recalled I actually got one of those larger old school roll around transformers to try restoring a lead acid battery, the type with the 200A starter booster output and didn't work. I have a video or two that are bad of that charger, though reminds me to work on that again confirming spec ratings since I got some parts from a toaster oven for a mechanical timer and possibly for better power control along with an led display to upgrade the output values. I recall I wanted to somehow vacuum epoxy into the transformer as well to quiet the thing.

    So those carburetor fuel shut of solenoids double as a fuel pre-heater LOL.
    The lawn tractor that John suggested for a mud mower would be a great start, its already had its engine removed....I think a Predator would be a great swap, and do a shaft drive maybe?
    That electric ATV is hilarious...even a regular gas powered ATV don't do all that nonsense LOL.

Tore it apart to see how it worked and found the oil had broken down and clogged the filter. Cleaned everything and added new oil, noise went away. Has had 100 hours put on it and it still sounds and works good. I’m guessing JD put cheap oil in them
