- Fly Me to the Moon (Doris Day Piano Cover) / / Frank Sinatra's version of this is perhaps one of the most timeless songs of his era. It's absolutely stunning. I took a slower, even more ballad than usual approach, to this arrangement. It's not quintessential jazz, but I was still pleased with how it turned out. I hope you enjoy it too!

My sweet cousin died of cancer at age 30 about 8 years ago in 2012. Matt Blount of Pelham, AL. Tonight I am grading papers listening and this brought back memories of him! Years ago, before his cancer diagnosis, and before he got married, he was bored and wanted to take me to a flea market one Saturday morning. This place was an hour away. I was super surprised that he played a Frank Sinatra CD the whole way there.... haaaa.... I didn't think that would be his type of music. I'm not complaining because I LOVE FRANK! We also went to Little River Canyon that day. It was May 19, 2007. This song made me think about him tonight.... I am an only child and loosing him was like loosing a brother, as my cousins and I were super close growing up! Eight years later and I still miss him so much. Jon Michael, thanks for the music! This brings back sweet memories with my cousin!!!
