    I had a 2020 5.0 F150. Like the simplicity of the engine and that lovely V8 growl, however, I prefer my new 2.7 Ecoboost. The low end torque is night and day compared to the 5.0. I would have to stomp on the accelerator to get it going. But sure that's the nature of the 5.0. With the 2.7 I barely give it throttle and it flies. I do miss the sound of the 5.0. But that's all I really miss about it.

    My 2023 v8 stx made 24.2 mpg from NJ to FL, 1283 miles. Going avg speed of 75. However 70 to 72 is a sweet spot, with this engine having the new cylinder deactivation feature

    I love my 2020 5.0. It does everything I want it to do. 11k miles on it and so far so good. I heard the 2021 5.0 is getting cylinder deactivation.

      do you regret getting the one you got compared to the 2021?

    Isn't it a shame there isn't a 48v hybrid option on this v8. Seems to me that could be the sweet spot for long term longevity.

    I just bought a 2020 XLT 5.0 last week. So far I'm loving it. My must have was that tried and true 5.0. Thanks for doing the video, I was curious to how well it would do on MPG, if only I could keep it out of Sport Mode!

    How much do you miss the wrapped steering wheel in this trim?

    • @AdventuringToday
      @AdventuringToday  Год назад

      I wouldn’t miss it at all. I think the steering wheel in the XL is much more durable long term. Yes it’s not quite as comfortable as leather but it’s not the hard plastic of a 4 year old truck either.

      I bought the factory warranty... covered to 150,000 miles or 6 years. I don’t trust any Ford at this point.

      I currently have a 2021 f150 2.7 stx. With 1600 miles on it and im already taking it to service..not once but twice! Getting abs faults, hill assist faults, collision faults, and gears slipping from 1st to 5th to 10 back down to 1st.(happened twice so far). Gonna see if I can get the 5.0

      Sounds like it's all electronic issues.....

      Idk why the engine in it matters if it's electronic.

    So are you getting 700 miles to a tank of fuel? I’ve heard several people claiming 700 miles to a tank of fuel.

      On a road trip I got 600+ on my 2012 4x4 5.0 with 36 gallon tank. I went 20 miles past 0 miles to empty then decided I didn't want to push it and stopped. I had a 5 gallon gas can with me.

      @@fernandobriseno8164 I didn’t realize those 1/2 ton Ford trucks had a 36 gallon fuel tank. Holly cow. My 2015 Ram Quad Cab 4x4 has a 26 gallon tank. The best I’ve ever got to a tank of gas was like 505 miles. When I fueled up I put on like 25 gallons. When my low fuel lite cam on and I seen my mileage on my truck was just over 500 miles I was like nope I’m not pushing it any further. I have the 5.7 Hemi and 3.92 gears. Tire size is 295/70 R18. I think I was getting like 19 MPG but I usually get around 16 MPG.

      @@stgraves260 mine has 3.55 gears and at that time I had P275/65r18. I think I was getting in the 18mpg highway back then.

      @@fernandobriseno8164 I have the Tuff Country 4” lift. (( Not the Rough County. )) I had it installed when I bought the truck new in 2015. The wheels are 18x9 Fuel Boost with -12 off set. I have had 35x12.50, 34”x12.50 BFG K02s and 295/70R18. The 295 tires get the best fuel economy and best performance. The 295 tires true size is 34.29x 11.77” wide. The 35x12.50 tires are 34.5x12.5. I have ran the 295s on a leveled 2012 Ram 1500 4x4 with no rubbing. Not even when you hit a bump and turn at the same time. The Hemi and the 8spd auto seam to like the 295 tire sizes. At 75 mph I’m at 1900 RPMs. With 35” I’m not quite at 1850 RPMs at 75 mph. I think the 35” tires bog the Hemi down even with the 3.92 gears. Go to discount tires and I do believe they will let you try the tires for a month and see if you like them. What year truck you have?
