- Here is a quick little 45 second guide on how to install Windows for FREE after building your Gaming PC! it's super easy and simpler then you might think, just grab a thumb-drive that's atleast 8 GB and follow these simple steps!

Just a quick tip for everyone that might do this, if you don't see the windows setup screen just reboot your pc into the BIOS (or boot options if you know how) and from there choose the USB flash drive as the 1. drive and THEN the SDD,HDD etc or else the pc will just boot from its normal drive (most of the pcs get into the BIOS with the delete,f7 or f3 key it changes from pc to pc you have to look that up yourselves)

If it's a new build you may hit a wall where windows tells you you need a network to continue the install 😢but depending on your new mother board if doesn't have drivers for wif u won't be able to continue.. press shift+F10 a command prompt opens type oobe/bypass to it will allow u to install windows without a network

You actually don't need to do that anymore, if your computer is updated you shouldn't have to as newer computers auto save and don't need to be ejected.
@@completeandabsolutenerd Yeah kind of like how any vehicle created after 1997 doesn't need oil because they're updated and autofill themselves with oil so they don't need you to add it anymore. Technology is awesome!
I just got this pc that I'm giving to my grandparents advertised as "windows 10" but it has no os. I was about to spend 100 dollars and this showed up. So helpful
If you don't buy a license for windows it will be very limited. I recommend buying a code off of G2A. I got windows 10 pro for $25 CAD.

@@aidyns3703 the keys don't put widows on your computer. Keys let you use all of Windows features. If you don't get a product key windows will be very restricted and lock you out of some important features. And yes buying a product key off of G2A for like $20-$40 really works, a product key is basically just a gift card.
@ FastestOfFast, No need to buy product key, only thing limited is that you can't customise wallpaper and stuff but all the daily stuff will work just fine. Use that money for something else. Also if you have an old windows 7/8/8.1 product key, it'll work just fine on windows 10 or 11. Don't mind the advertiser in comments. Hope it helped, have a nice day :)

Guys, a key bit of info he missed is that Windows will wipe your data on that usb drive, so just make sure your data is saved

I watched nearly an hour of other videos to learn what you just made more simple in under one minute. Bravo good Sir.
If you had windows activated on another system, you can link that activated key to your microsoft account and you wont need to buy a new Windows key. Just click the skip option at the activation screen on your new build and load into your desktop. Then open your settings and go to "Account" and sign into your microsoft account. You should now see the option to activate windows from the key you had linked. Thats if it doesnt do it automatically.

@@ryansloyer You can also buy a Windows key with the installer or flash it on a USB using devices that don't run Windows. If you search for Windows install on something other than a Windows device, it will show the option to download the ISO file. Then you can use that file to burn it onto CD's or a USB using software like Balena Etcher or Rufus.

Not sure if Rufus and Windows work well together, or maybe because this removes an extra step that most people really don't need.

Just for some extra information: 8gb is doable but 16 gb is advisable. Custom download is for “clean OS install” and no it’s not free, you either need to give in the authentication code that’s embedded to the motherboard or just give a legit authentication code during or after OS install.

Suggestions: usually m.2 aren't recognised so I'd suggest disconnecting other drives and keep only m.2
After installation, connect other drives
You can copy RST VMD Drivers on USB drive. Then load the drivers during Win install
It's fun and games when you need to give it drivers just to find your drive
The mainboard usb's should work out of the box, I guess some cases might need a driver
@@a.b.c.d.e... I'm on a laptop but yeah the usb worked fine even the thunderbolt 4 port in usb mode dont have anything thunderbolt to plug in but ik that wont work out of the box unless its linux storage didnt work right out of the box on windows but linux it did
Never had this problem, all you do is plug your USB adapters into the right slots and it should show up, idk about all pcs but for the most part it shouldn't matter
@@Mmarules unfortunately it can happen on some computers. You can go to use the usb to reinstall windows and it can't find the drives. Becomes the best task to then the drivers to use. From my experience it can also brick the trackpad drivers so only the keyboard works. Love windows some times 😅

Top tip for free windows keys. Just use a Windows key from your Windows 7, Windows 8 machine. They work and you can use keys from even older ones! Like XP etc.
Brother could you tell me one thing kindly. I bought a Hp PC recently. And It's giving me headaches every now and then. In my previous PC I could install windows through any DVD any flash.... In this PC it doesn't work on DVD....and also if u put Flash drive you have to put it in specific slot to make it work.

My GPU is quite old but it runs games like Skyrim....and say Unturned...and like Black flag 4.......Now what's your opinion. Is there any way I can connect it ? And If I have to buy another... Do all these PSU come in same size? My current power supplier is perfectly fitted in. If I buy another it might be too big or too small.... Or they all same?
you should make 2 partitions. half for partition 1, and another half for partition 2. this is so that you can reinstall windows in your first partition while keeping your data in the second partition

You still need a windows product key for the full OS. You won’t be able to customize your setup and most other features will be gone. You will also have a watermark.
I mean, just use hwidgen, it's quick, it's easy and it's free!
Without activation you get full OS. Everything you can't do is customize your PC. And you get watermark. That's all.
And remember to remove the flash drive or change the boot options when it's done if you've selected the flash drive as the main boot device. Otherwise you'll just loop.

Yeah quite a few people have been having this problem, I didn’t put it in the video because to be honest didn’t think it was necessary but future videos I will be sure to elaborate 100%!

fun fact: Your windows will officially activated if you use Windows media creation tool
and if you then sign in your account into that, next time if you install windows by using the official image file they provide in their website...if you login with the same account it will automatically activate your windows 💁🏻♂️💁🏻♂️

Tip: if you have multiple drives its easier to just connect your os drive, install windows and then connect your other drives. This eliminates the chance of windows installing files in another drive.

If you have a motherboard with a UEFI, make sure your drives partition scheme is set to GPT. MBR is for legacy BIOS systems

Great little tutorial
some tips:
Don't to connect internet while installing, only then you will get the option to make a local account without a Microsoft account.
Before you connect to the internet, you can still use the personalization settings as Windows won't yet recognize you don't have a license.
When it asks you for a password, leave it blank to skip it. You can add a password later without having to setup security questions.

Assuming I read your question correctly, yes that is possible. You would need to tell it to boot from usb instead of the regular drive.

yea happened with me to lol before it restarts you quickly have to remove the pendrive/DvD drive

Because you have booted upon your pendrive..just remove the pendrive or change the boot 1 to hdd/ssd

If you guys get the message “free up space. Try again” free up space on your main hard drive or nvme then the usb option will pop up. It took me a while to figure this out…
Many seem to wonder about the free part but if you already have a functioning windows device which has your email the moment you sign into the new device it will activate it other then that amazing video dude
