The Montgomerys left the house in the final of season one. After the birth of Michael Charles ''past'' into the afterlife and Nora after she realized that she never could be a good mother
I feel like the house was responsible for making Tate more evil, but he was already a little disturbed before the house. In the scenes where violet confronts him, he's crying and is confused as to why he did what he did, yet he does say to Ben Harmon that he was helping the kids get to a better place so that's a little confusing too. So I still believe some of his actions (like raping violets mom) are caused by the house as he genuinely doesn't remember why he would do those things. And he will always have a little darkness in him bc there's no way all of it left with Michael.
It made sense when tate said the house had used him as a vessel. He was a damaged, sorrow teen that are attracted to the dark side. Making him very vulnerable for the evil house to control him as a vessel. I realise a lot of people doesnt like the idea that the evil house made him do those nasty things but rather he was just a physcopath. Remember, it doesnt make anyone physcopath when one thinks of murders. He shown love for his siblings. Both of his siblings plus he had feelings for violet lmao. In general, it make sense when the house used him. He was a after all a very vulnerable teen to control.
Personally I think of it like this: Tate’s been handed a gun and it’s rested in his hand his whole life. But as soon as he moves to the murder house all of sudden the guns locked and loaded and all Tate has to do is pull the trigger. In other words Tate’s always been mentally unstable but the house is what made his thoughts turn into actions.
The Rocking Volbeat It was said in the first season that ghosts aren’t effected by time travel, so Tate and Violet do get there happy ending ❤️ Also, ghosts are not affected by time at all because their souls are eternally trapped in one place, and that's why they cannot grow older. That's why Violet and Tate look the same for many years. So even if time has been reversed, the ghosts wouldn't get any 'younger' or transform into the changed timeline as they do not follow the physical laws of our universe.
Tate was the most complex, interesting, well written and well acted character on this show, but they had to turn him into the cliche of "bad boy changes and becomes good because of the love of a girl". Tate was an interesting Character because he was SO fu**ed up. I loved that he was so unashamedly bad, i watched the scene in which he is screwing with the police and mock shoots himself with his hand without giving a damn on YT, and it was what made me become fascinated with him and actually started watching the show because of him and after seeing that scene. I think he wasn't a psychopath though, he cared about and loved his siblings ,Nora and Violet, he was too emotional to be psychopath . He also wasn't pure evil, he had some light in him, but it was so trivial comparing to his darkness that was almost complet destroyed by his darkness. He was Sadistic, homophobic, cruel and MOSTLY remorseless but not a Psychopath, maybe a sociopath. Also hated that they romanticized and woobified him and justified his crimes. And He didn't deserve a happy ending. Don't get me wrong he is my favorite tv character of all time, not only in AHS, but in the whole tv serieses , but he HAD to pay for the things he did. They did him a great disservice by the unbelievable and forced redemption and by turning him into a cliche. They also took his agency from him, they made him into a programmed robot, a puppet and a plot device. Sorry for the rant but i had to say it.
He was a psychopath, not a sociopath. Sociopaths can't feel emotions. He can. He cares deeply about people. You can be a psychopath and not a sociopath.
Sincerely Rose lol think you uhm ya know.. switched.. psychos are born without empathy and sociopaths are raised to not have empathy.. so sociopaths can turn normal again.. yeah....
I don't like what they did to Tate's character just so Violate could appear as a healthy relationship. I ship these character, while admitting that they both needed some psychological help and of course I don't support toxic relationships in real life. For me Season 1 Tate is still my canon
There's a scene in season 1 where Hayden has sex with Hugo, as ghosts of course. And I only saw Return To Murder House once, but didn't Moira also crack a joke at Constance about sleeping with Hugo in the basement? He's there, he just chooses not be seen by his own family. We don't even know if Tate knows his dad is there, he thinks his dad left them when he was a kid.
It was shown that Constance said she cut him up into pieces and fed him to the dogs bc he didn't deserve to be a ghost in the house. That's why I think he's never shown. But I wonder how Constance could have chopped him up and if the psycho ghost Dr helped her do that.
I tried to explain my reaction to Tate First impression: Aw, sad.. seems pretty troubled I hope he's oka- Second thoughts: OH SHIT, a school shooter. Why? Third thoughts after he tried to save Violet from suicide but failed: (Screaming, crying, overall suffering)
I love these videos but from what I understood from Return to Murder House Tate is evil because he took on some of the evil of the house and the house was instructing him to do the awful things he did. When he impregnated Vivian his offspring (Michael) then took on the evil, not just of the house but of hell itself, and since Tate was drained of all of the houses evil with the birth of Michael he truly IS a different person than he was in Murder House. That's why Maddison convinced Violet to give Tate another chance, he just isn't the evil dude he was.
One of the most glamorized characters who made you feel sorry for him, at least for a while. I had a stupid crush on that character (like many people) even though he was pure evil, with excessive pity parties and a completely deluded sense of reality. The crush aspect was probably done on purpose to make him seem like an angsty, Kurt Cobain-like figure, so that we would see him from Violet's perspective.
You should do a deep dive on Pepper. Even though she’s probably not going to make a return in Apocalypse she still deserves her moment for being the bridge between 2 of the best seasons of AHS
madison didn’t wipe her memory. when violet banished tate she couldn’t see him anymore. madison allowed her to see tate and that’s why they mad up. wiping her memory makes no sense because of the conversation tate and violet had.
I didn’t like how they justified his past actions with the explanation that he ‘just’ did all these things because of the house. Doesn’t make much sense. Violet already was really unhappy before she arrived at the house and then it got worse but it’s not like she wasn’t unhappy before moving in.
Ida Gatsby Tate’s been living in the murder house since he was a baby though so it makes sense if the house influenced him to do all those things. It’s probably not the only reason Tate did all those things but from the initial confusion he had when violet confronted him about shooting those kids in his school would make sense. Also Violet didn’t have Constance for a mother so you can’t really compare her experience with Tate’s.
They needed to do that for Michael's backstory the fact that the house is a portal to hell that pushed him to do those things which resulted in the birth of the anti-christ makes more sense then tate raped his girlfriends(who he loved greatly) mother just to be "the good guy" and it just so happened it became the antichrist. It adds definition to a story that still isn't very developed and it resolved a conflict many people have kept in the back of their minds since the murder house ended.
I had always interpreted his character as not really being that evil at all. Lonely and disturbed yes, but not evil. All of his evil acts were to gain the approval of other people/ghosts, and the show did allude to him truly not remembering his acts from his life as anything other than dreams.
I thought we found out in the last episode that it was the house that made Tate so evil? I don’t think Madison wiped out violets memory. I thought she gave her a spell to show her the truth of what the house is and how it affected Tate ?
Damn. When I saw it, I thought I liked return to the murder house. In fact I did, but it's what they did with Tate s story arc that bothers me. The guy was and always will be evil, the house may have helped but that doesn't redeem him. They did it so violet and Tate could end together, I thought I wanted that too, but not if that means streaping all the appeal in Tate s character. It s too much fan service. I wish they fix it in future episodes (like saying Vivien lied, or that Madison teamed up with Tate for some reason and indeed forced Violet to forgive him) but I seriously doubt it :(
The Rocking Volbeat Not exactly, because ghosts are not affected by time at all their souls are eternally trapped in one place, and that's why they cannot grow older. That's why Violet and Tate look the same for many years. So even if time has been reversed, the ghosts wouldn't get any 'younger' or transform into the changed timeline as they do not follow the physical laws of our universe.
Actually, he didn't know who those kids were. His memory of the shooting was wiped when he died. I don't remember what happened exactly, but something made him remember those kids he killed and he broke down sobbing and crying "Why would I do that?!?" repeatedly.
Tate draws you in with his love for Violet. He lives in such torment as a ghost - but he looks so boyish - can't help but to love him, even though he is a Psycho! I would like to see more about Nan, there's not much on her. I would also like to see more of her character in future episodes!
I'm pretty sure that the Hugo/Hayden scene was in either the opening, or at least the early part, of one of the episodes. I could be wrong though! It's been several years since I re-watched Murder House. Which gives me an idea of what to do with my free day now! :)
But they show Constance saying how after she killed him she chopped him up and fed him to the dogs bc he wasn't fit to be a ghost in the murder house. I'm confused now if Hayden had sex with him. She did have sex with Constance's new young bf and when he asked why, she said to see if she could have sex with a live person so maybe that was following her having sex with the ghost of Hugo prior?? I need to rewatch murder house it seems. I love how rewatching seasons is great viewing but now even more so bc the last season, S8 returned to plot of S1 so there may be things I missed that now connect
Tate is an interesting character. You wouldn’t feel bad for him in real life considering the hurt and pain and lives he’s taken, but you still kinda feel for him in the end of the season 😩
Yli Yo No, Ghosts are not affected by time at all their souls are eternally trapped in one place, and that's why they cannot grow older. That's why Violet and Tate look the same for many years. He is a cute guy, but they way he made me laugh all 8 seasons,... of a scary show!... he is fine (aka hot lol) Especially and in Cult.. how is he scary and funny as hell at the same time! I also look at the actors acting while i'm watching the movie.. he is funny and a fantastic actor!
He plays so many characters that we don't know if Tate is the primary soul in apocalypse storyline he's the only actor that has the most personalities souls that are still alive and some way
my theory is that time for ghosts is relative and not the same as the real world so when mallory went back in time it didnt affect the ghosts cause as i said time moves differently
Most of your video recap pretty decently explained what we know about Tate, except for the last minute. Madison did not just “basically wipe Violet’s memory” regarding Tate. In that episode of apocalypse it was clearly explained that the demonic/satanic evil of the murder house influenced Tate & took a possessive like control over him during most of his horrific deeds. The evil influenced most of the souls trapped there (& former living souls). When Madison talked with Tate’s mother she said once Michael left it was like the evil left with him. Madison explained to Violet that it wasn’t actually the “real” Tate that did those things & used her magic/spell to open her eyes/show her. Also showed Tate saving her mother. Violet didn’t have her mind “erased” of all that happened with Tate. Only showed her the Tate thats not influenced or controlled by the past hellish evil of the house anymore. I’m just going off of what the show explained during that whole Tate/Violet/Madison episode.
Ever since last weeks episode I keep asking myself if it would be possible for all the ghosts stuck in the murder house to be freed if their bones were removed from the plot of land
Yeah I think that was a huge plot hole because some of the bodies were taken out of the house to be buried and their ghosts are still around. Only thing I can think is maybe it was a specific spell that required bones and not actually in removing the bones themselves that freed Moira
Steph That makes sense 🤔, I was thinking more along the lines of that maybe even if the body was removed from the house, if the person died a traumatic death (so quick that they don’t even know they’re dead) or if they had some sort of attachment to the house they would be stuck there? I think Behold and Madison briefly touched on that matter in the episode
@@arieldennis1999 But what about the nurses? They had painfully drawn out deaths and their bodies were removed. No way to confirm 36 deaths without 36 bodies
@@arieldennis1999 Ooh! And I just realized. Ben Harmon knew he was dead; he had to clarify to Madison that it wasn't a suicide, right? Which means he was discovered by authorities, obviously removed, and presumed to be a suicide. So it has to be a spell.
Spirit, bones and flesh are different things. Of course their bodies were removed but the spirit was trapped. They were already in hell. As far as Moira I believe she just happened to be one of those residents who had her body buried to why she maybe needed her bones. Maybe she needed in that case her bones to. To be completely gone and also to be buried with her moms.
i’m only a few episodes into season two and i cant explain how happy i am tate and violet got back together. no matter what hat tate does i’ll somehow always love him
What never made sense to me was how Tate became Dr. Harmon's patient to begin with. Constance was not shown requesting his psychiatric services, nor did the Harmons even know that Constance was Tate's mother. Also, Dr. Harmon knows that Tate is a minor, and while there is a slim possibility that Tate would have been able to obtain these services without any involvement from a parent or guardian, it is unlikely because a minor usually cannot legally enter into a contract, which is what medical informed consent boils down to. Finally, Dr. Harmon presumably sees patients in exchange for money, so where is the money coming from, much less an initial demonstration of an ability to pay for these services, especially if insurance was not involved? I love the show, and Tate is one of my favorite characters, but his introduction never made sense to me.
then you should review the season, in one of the scenes Constance is talking on the phone with Dr. Hermann, she put a towel to the receiver so that her voice would not be recognized
You got some parts wrong. Tate doesn’t know he’s a ghost either that’s why Constance has made him go to therapy so he can realize that. He didn’t pretend that he doesn’t know the kids he shot. He actually doesn’t. Also Tate and Violet won’t live together until the Apocalypse because they turned back time meaning Madison wasn’t in the murder house after all so they still won’t speak to each other for eternity and worst of all Moira won’t ever leave and see her mother. Apocalypse ending fucked up the only good thing about itself.
I love season 1 of AHS. There was something about murder house they was interesting. The following 3 seasons just didn't do it for me and never continued it.
But there seems to be some reworking of the mythos going on here. The original rule was that one only had to die on the property to have the spirit trapped there. Now it's that the bones are important to bind the spirit, but there are several victims of the house whose bones couldn't or shouldn't be there. Tate for one wouldn't have been buried at the house. His body and those of many other victims would have been retrieved, sent to the county coroner, and buried elsewhere. The authorities and state law wouldn't have allowed otherwise. Now we could let many slide with a little writer's licence because they're fictional characters, even perhaps the nurses. Speck murdered student nurses in Chicago, so his murders at the house in LA are fictional making the victims fictional as well. It all depends where we draw the line. If any of the major murders or deaths are considered true, then at some point the police would have become involved, which means bye-bye body. However, there is at least one victim who's trapped at the house but whose bones are definitely not there - Elizabeth Short aka The Black Dahlia. She's buried far from LA. Sorry for the long comment. I'm trying to understand the inconsistency.
Well the realtor guy said there had been 36(?) murders at the house, right? I'm guessing he's one of the 20+ ghosts who do not wish to be seen and are consequently never on screen
You do see him in murder house as a ghost. Hayden sleeps with him multiple times after she dies and each time kills him for fun at the end. He seems to never remember the encounters.
Wayment wouldn’t it be impossible for Tate to get the black suit because Ben threw it in the garbage which was outside of the gate/ not on the murder house property ? 🤔🤔🤔🤔
I wouldn‘t say he is a psychopath, the fact that he tries to save Violett in season 1 and some other events prove that, so i would say that he is more likely to be a sociopath. If you don‘t know the difference, i recomend psych2go as a sorce

Asta Hemenway how is the house a gateway to hell?

This is such a great way of putting it

I love Tate x Violet so much i cried at the AHS S8 "Return to Murder House" episode 😭😭 both of them finally got a happy ending 😭😭
And then they didn't, as the timeline was reset so Madison never went to the murder house and fixed their relationship
Not quite.
The Rocking Volbeat
It was said in the first season that ghosts aren’t effected by time travel, so Tate and Violet do get there happy ending ❤️ Also, ghosts are not affected by time at all because their souls are eternally trapped in one place, and that's why they cannot grow older.

I’m to lazy to read all of that
@@carinaolsen8207 tl;dr: tate is bad and the redemption arc ruined his character
hard agree
He was a psychopath, not a sociopath. Sociopaths can't feel emotions. He can. He cares deeply about people. You can be a psychopath and not a sociopath.
Sincerely Rose lol think you uhm ya know.. switched.. psychos are born without empathy and sociopaths are raised to not have empathy.. so sociopaths can turn normal again.. yeah....
I don't like what they did to Tate's character just so Violate could appear as a healthy relationship.
I ship these character, while admitting that they both needed some psychological help and of course I don't support toxic relationships in real life.

I totally Ship Tate and Violet fhito😩🤷🏾♀️ I wish I could have Tate😭
Is anybody else wondering were Tates father is?he was killed in the murder house so he must be trapped in there too
There's a scene in season 1 where Hayden has sex with Hugo, as ghosts of course. And I only saw Return To Murder House once, but didn't Moira also crack a joke at Constance about sleeping with Hugo in the basement? He's there, he just chooses not be seen by his own family. We don't even know if Tate knows his dad is there, he thinks his dad left them when he was a kid.
New Wave Nancy yea I think Moira said something like "I've been pleasuring your husband in the basement" or something along those lines
It was shown that Constance said she cut him up into pieces and fed him to the dogs bc he didn't deserve to be a ghost in the house. That's why I think he's never shown. But I wonder how Constance could have chopped him up and if the psycho ghost Dr helped her do that.
I tried to explain my reaction to Tate
First impression: Aw, sad.. seems pretty troubled I hope he's oka-
Second thoughts: OH SHIT, a school shooter. Why?
Third thoughts after he tried to save Violet from suicide but failed: (Screaming, crying, overall suffering)
Tate: "finders keepers"
Everyone watching it: awwww
I love these videos but from what I understood from Return to Murder House Tate is evil because he took on some of the evil of the house and the house was instructing him to do the awful things he did. When he impregnated Vivian his offspring (Michael) then took on the evil, not just of the house but of hell itself, and since Tate was drained of all of the houses evil with the birth of Michael he truly IS a different person than he was in Murder House. That's why Maddison convinced Violet to give Tate another chance, he just isn't the evil dude he was.
That's so dumb. Tate was compelling because he was evil. The perfect fluffy ending just ruined his character.
Angsty kurt cobain like figure?
I just started AHS and finished S1... am i an bad human for feeling sry for tate? ... idk i think he is the most interesting char,

Who's madison?
I only watched season 1
Rook Rook she's from season 3 but she comes back in season 8 and reunites tate and violet
@@yUh-bc1dm is she related to Charles and his wife since they have the same last name?
Rook Rook there are some theories about that but it's not confirmed
I can't help it. I love Tate.
me too
Even Peters is too darn underrated. He has given some amazing performances and continues to surprise me as an actor. 👏👏👏
Soo um guys thats totally Kyle from season 3 in the thumbnail 😂 you might wanna fix that 😂
Bruh 😂😂😂
I hope we eventually find out what happened to Rose, to satiate my curiosity about all the characters, if not to flesh out her AHS wiki.
I had always interpreted his character as not really being that evil at all. Lonely and disturbed yes, but not evil. All of his evil acts were to gain the approval of other people/ghosts, and the show did allude to him truly not remembering his acts from his life as anything other than dreams.
Same
Violet Harmon you should do next

August Nights he was also so stupid and overall annoying. He blamed everyone else for his actions
Wished they showed more of Tate and Violet in apocalypse
Loved the character of Tate and his relationship with Taissa but don’t like this ‘he never was truly evil’ - ending.
That's Kyle lol (in the thumbnail)
Not much of a difference lol
I wish they fix it in future episodes (like saying Vivien lied, or that Madison teamed up with Tate for some reason and indeed forced Violet to forgive him) but I seriously doubt it :(
Well at the end of apocalypse the timeline was reset so Madison never went to the house and fixed their relationship
I acc feel so bad for him he just wants and good life since when he was alive he didnt.

Tate draws you in with his love for Violet. He lives in such torment as a ghost - but he looks so boyish - can't help but to love him, even though he is a Psycho!
I would like to see more about Nan, there's not much on her. I would also like to see more of her character in future episodes!
Tate will be my favourite character from AHS forever.
How come we never seen Hugo Landon as a ghost in Murder House?
Vincent Mejia you do. One time.
@@ErenJaegerDidNothingWrong when?

He plays so many characters that we don't know if Tate is the primary soul in apocalypse storyline he's the only actor that has the most personalities souls that are still alive and some way
I wanna know how the Murder House became a portal to Hell.
Because so many murders have taken place there
I know i shouldnt have laughed during the scene, but when he yelled out Stu is stew I just lost it.
What if after the house is destroyed by the bombs the spirits trapped can move on
my theory is that time for ghosts is relative and not the same as the real world so when mallory went back in time it didnt affect the ghosts cause as i said time moves differently
To be completely gone and also to be buried with her moms.
idk why but i’m literally so IN LOVE with evans character
Every episode I just wait for the "Ahh the stew is Stuuu" 😂😂
i’m only a few episodes into season two and i cant explain how happy i am tate and violet got back together. no matter what hat tate does i’ll somehow always love him
I'm so happy I found this channel I can connect the dots to ahs characters that I'm not knowledgable on . New Suscriber
You should do a theory on violate and Tate, what happened to them after or during apocalypse
Why don’t i remember like anything lmao did i fall asleep when i binged this?
Lol @ you finding a way to slip Stu in.
I have a question why do we never see tate father I mean he was murderd in the house?
One could understand his not wanting to be seen, especially now that his murderess is so dominant in the house.
theman fromtaured so glad someone else noticed this!! I was so bothered by last week’s episode because it didn’t add up with season 1.
You do see him in murder house as a ghost. Hayden sleeps with him multiple times after she dies and each time kills him for fun at the end. He seems to never remember the encounters.
Does anyone else wonder if violets body was just left in the crawl space like forever
Wayment wouldn’t it be impossible for Tate to get the black suit because Ben threw it in the garbage which was outside of the gate/ not on the murder house property ? 🤔🤔🤔🤔
murder house was amazing tho you cant lie and tate was his best role 🙈
I wouldn‘t say he is a psychopath, the fact that he tries to save Violett in season 1 and some other events prove that, so i would say that he is more likely to be a sociopath.
If you don‘t know the difference, i recomend psych2go as a sorce
He’s neither. He was possessed by the house
I love the premise and concept it makes me think of an American alternate history involving the paranormal.
