I got a central american a couple weeks ago. I've been letting him explore our backyard for a few hours each day. He seems to enjoy burying himself in the dry mulch by some of our bushes. A lot of people are saying it's important they have a humid environment. Would it be okay just to leave him in the backyard free to explore all the time? How important is humidity? Should I just build him a bigger terrarium and keep half of the bedding moist and the other half dry?
I use a fog machine for mine and he loves it. I use a humidity reader to keep his inside tank at 60-80% humidity. I set up the hose so it doesn't fog the entire enclosure so he can get dry when he wants.
