The song comes from the genre of kirtan - traditional worship music of the Bhakti tradition that invokes names of God. Kirtan music is prayerful, soulful and celebratory, and invites the singer and the listener to connect with the divine through sound.
'Rama' and 'Sita' are names of God in the Sanskrit language, which refer divinity as the reservoir of pleasure and feminine beauty. The lyrics 'Sita Mohan, Jaya Raghunandana, Raghupati Raghava, Dasharatha Nandana, Patita Pavana and Janaki Jivana' all describe "Rama," the perfect example son, husband and friend.
