"You don't have to have everything figured out, you just have to take the next step" Very well said. Thank you for sharing your experiences! Very useful!
With regard to using the Shipping Tubes, I have found that at least UPS charges a premium when using the round tubes, because their shipping centers use a conveyer belt system and anything that rolls, has to be grabbed and walked around manually. A way to avoid this extra charge, they sell elongated square shipping boxes that you can put your rolled up pieces in, when shipping. So use the boxes vs the tubes, in my opinion/experience.
Thank you! Just starting with my cards. And have done so much research. What you said really validates what I’ve found out. Now to get started and see what really works for me. Thanks again.
Thank you, I'm in the UK 🇬🇧 but still found this info useful. More of a confirmation that I'm doing the right thing for each product with my shipping costs.
Thank you for this information! I'm in the process of setting up some online selling, and leaving my (inconsistent) videos for occasional fun, and this video was the perfect educational resource to help! Your watercolors are beautiful! 😍
Thank you so much for these helpful videos!!! I'm so terrified of shipping and packaging lol... I'm trying to start with Print on Demand but you've inspired me to give it a go myself!
Im late to the party, but same. Not a lot of companies offer print on demand for greeting cards. And if they do, the only form of communication is email. The inability to talk with a live agent is what makes me want to do it myself.
You are an angel. Thank you for this video. As usual you are always and right on time with these timely informative vids. so, thank you, thank you. by the way. I would definitely go with tracking . You are not paranoid but just in case you are, so am i. It gives a piece of mind that you know where customer items are. It would not look good or professional to have no clue where your customers products are. God bless.
Really helpful hearing about greetingcards! Always got confused about including an unused envelope with a card, then putting both in an envelope to use to ship? 😅 What do you use to weather-protect the prints/cards while in the rigid mailer - cellophane?
Yup cellophane! We use the compostable bio plastic kind to be more gentle on mother earth. Here’s our video that talks about them: ruclips.net/video/GezOWESn0Z4/видео.html
Thanks for the informative video. I have gone back-and-forth on what to do with shipping as it seems so hard to charge four dollars to ship some thing with full tracking. I went with the “letter“ option on Etsy that has supposed tracking with Pitney Bowes, but it is not a true USPS tracking and have run into a lot of customer. service issues. I was thrilled to find this because it allows for star seller because of the “tracking”, but without it being USPS tracking it was not helpful, and did not look as professional. Because of this and that I sell a lot of embellished and embossed cards, would you recommend I use the rigid mailer with full tracking?
yes i like having tracking for the reasons you mentioned. less customer service headache even if it means losing out on potential sales, but that’s my personal preference.
Hi, you have closed captioning disabled on this video. Could you please enable it? You don't "need" to review and edit what the robots guess that you are saying but it certainly would help those of us in the hard of hearing community. Thanks!
Hi, this video could not generate automatic closed captioning for some reason and I don't have time to type it out manually. I usually turn it on for all my videos whenever it's available. I'll look into it more as to why this one didn't. sorry about that.
Thank you so much for sharing all of your videos- SUPER helpful! Quick question if you don't mind- I have been sending my greeting cards A2 size) in a rigid mailer just like the one you share in your video. When I got to mail it, they charge between $4-5 with tracking. When I asked why I couldn't ship it cheaper, they said because it was a rigid mailer. Have you experienced this?
Yes, unfortunately shipping costs keeps climbing, so I'm paying in the $3.5-5 range vs $2-4 range a couple of years ago for US orders. Also it will always be cheaper to ship from an online shipping platform vs going to the post office. This is why a lot of sellers mail their cards in a bigger envelope with a stamp because you can get away with one stamp if the total weight is under 1oz. It may make sense for you to do that as long as the customer knows they can't track their shipment.

I know this was 3 years ago but this is the most practical video on shipping I have come upon so far! Thanks ❤
wow thanks so much!

good pro tip, thanks for sharing.
love when you added the meme for the shipping
It brings joy to an otherwise tedious video editing process, hah.

So helpful!
Glad you think so!
Thank you for all your videos! Do you ever put "Do not Bend" stickers on your mailers?
Yes

How do you offer first-class shipping with added tracking? I don't see where to add that option?
I believe first class letter doesn’t have an added tracking option but first class package does (and costs more), which is what I use.
