Yeah. Saying she needs cooling off time from her kid. I'm a single mom of a 2 year old girl. Completely single. The ex who I was pregnant by has never been involved. I work full time so I have to send my girl to a sitter. Someone I trust a lot. When I'm not at work, my daughter is with me. Period. Any place I have to go she comes with me. My parents in Jersey have asked me to send her down without me because I can't get time off of work and the answer is no. There are times my sister babysits where I am working until 12am and then have to be up by 9am the next day for a staff meeting and my sister says oh just let her sleep over instead of driving back and forth. The answer is again no. It's not that I don't trust them, it's that I want my daughter with me all the time. I want to spend time with her. I enjoy being with her

Parents, never feel ashamed to take a break. If you have a trusted family or friend who does not mind watching your baby for a couple of days, there is no shame and utilizing that help. In this case, she did ask for someone to give her a break, but unfortunately, she asked too late after the abuse to the child. If you feel like you are going to hurt your child, please reach out to someone you trust who can help you with the child while you get help. Postpartum depression could also be a factor here if it was untreated. Remember, it takes a village to raise a child. That support system is needed.

Even though she hurt her son which is terribly sad, she needs help herself, being raised in the foster system is not easy, I was a foster parent and many of these children have no attachment to anyone. Especially if they were moved from home to home. I hope she gets the help she needs for herself and her children. I do not think it is a bad thing for a parent like this to take a break, its safer for the child and shes being honest when she says she needed a break. It is horrible but it is not too late to break the cycle with help but she needs to want it. Disgusting, atrocious lack of accountability. This woman needs to be in a jail cell minimum and not on this Earth if there was any justice. This same thing just happened to my two yr old nephew by a babysitter and he had to have brain surgery at Johns Hopkins Hospital. Luckily we don’t live far and he was transferred there asap from another hospital. The babysitter is in jail for HORRIFIC INJURIES that he caused to both my two nephews but only one almost died. To see a baby go through that is so heartbreaking and devastating. We’re hoping to have him charged with attempted murder. May God bless them both with no lasting brain injuries. 🙏

Letting your family watch your child every once in a while isn't weird or a bad thing. Especially if the parent is hurting the child from "stress" Steve acts like he's never let his parents keep his children for a couple of days. Her harming her child is what is bad. And lying on her family member who was being good to her and her baby, is what is bad. If you trust someone to have your child, it's not a sin to allow them to watch your child for a couple of days. As long as you call and check up on them.

This narrative that mothers are never allowed a day off, never allowed a break, never allowed to be their own person as well as a fit parent, is exactly the reason maternal suicide rates and postpartum depression have skyrocketed. There is no sound psychiatric evidence that supports this narrative.
Mother's DO take breaks. There is no correlation between a mother needing to reset mentally and physically for a day or two and a lack of love for the child. Not all love that children receive in their early years will be from their mothers. It is ABSOLUTELY normal for children to spend a weekend at their grandma and grandpa's houses. Some of the best stories and fondest memories that people share about their grandparents occurred while at their houses.
Virtue signaling within the motherhood side of social media is sickening. Believe it or not, with competent significant others and involved family members, you can absolutely raise a child in a loving environment AND take a break here and there.

Her growing up in the foster care system and not having parental figures in her life really makes it make a lot of sense. Also, people with trauma tend to gravitate to older, wiser, more understanding people. I get it and didn't see anything wrong with it either. If it works for them..

Her story makes absolutely zero sense first she claims she doesn't know how the injury happened but yet made up a lie as to how it happened that she caused? And now it was in a family members custody that it happened in? None of this makes any sense... This girl is an habitual liar and I feel sorry for any guy who tries to get close to this girl

The day i become a grandparent, dam right I'm going to have them babies as often as i can lol 😂 my grandparents used to have me for weekends and even a whole week over holidays. Not just to give my parents a break but because it's such a special bond ❤
It doesn't mean anyone is a bad parent, especially not when the family members ask and offer to have the kids!

I have been a HUGE Steve fan for as long as I can remember but when I heard him grilling her for sending her baby to a friend for 2 days, I was baffled. I have 3 children and on multiple occasions I have sent my oldest to stay with my father for a few weeks because raising kids is HARD and it’s healthy for both the child and mom to be apart at times. I still called multiple times a day. It’s normal to need a break from your kid. You can’t suffer alone. Then at the end he tells her about all the help she needs. She was literally getting help by having a friend watch the baby for 2 days…. With that being said I feel like he treated her biased. Imagine what he would say if it came out that the man shook the baby. He’d be furious and throw him off the stage. This girl needs help no doubt and there isn’t a justifiable reason to shake or hurt your child. But come on Steve, this episode was a whirlwind.
