God contacts Congressman Evan Baxter and tells him to build an ark in preparation for a great flood. Film & Animation
Dude if a guy builds an ark and out of nowhere animals start calmingly boarding the ark, im sure as hell going in too
Fr same
Me too
yup
Indeed. I'd also be referencing the book of Genesis and thinking, "Yep, this aligns with what I'm seeing here. Better get on the ark."
I used to think the same but after one Ark I boarded and the violent love making that followed, I have since amended that belief.
I love how he brings all these animals to his ark. Animals that previously were safe from the flood, got brought into the danger area, to be rescued from something they were previously safe from.
thats what i thought too! I feel like it would have been a better storyline if a zoo was going to be destroyed along with the other stuff, but all the animals got into the boat beforehand
@@calebk1841That would have implied if he knew it was the lake and not an actual rain flood
It's in Gods hands 😂😂
And he is a politician, that’s what governments do. 😢
In the Bible, God kills all the firstborn of Egypt to persuade the Pharaoh to let Moses' people go, after hardening Pharaoh's heart so that he would not let them go. It's just as stupid.
There are so many top
Tier actors in this movie for like no reason
Back when they enjoyed making fun movies.
They could do this back then because the red tape didn't cost like $50 million.
Now 70% of production cost goes to nonsense that has nothing to do with actually making the movie.
@@MrSirFluffy
This isn’t a good movie. Saying “back when they made fun movies,” but this isn’t a good example of one. The original is much better.
@ Speak for yourself. This was a fun movie. The first is better, but this was still a fun movie. This was the actors having a fun with a decent budget film.
Actors used to do more silly films with each other. Now it's less common since the budget requirements are so much higher.
Unions in the film industry have made making fun movies far more difficult.
@@MrSirFluffyunions didn’t cause the death of mid-budget films, executives did
@@MrSirFluffy- You're blaming the cost of moving making on the Unions?! 😂 WTF?! lol Yeah sure.... it's got nothing at all to do with greedy executives, or actors getting paid obscene amounts of money for 2 - 3mo of work, or the outrageous cost of marketing these days, nah.... it's the Unions. 🤦🏻♀️ smh
cameramen not leaving their gear is pretty spot on
They didn't want to die. 😉
Gotta remember history
That stuff is expensive expensive
More pricey than their lives /j
Cameras, they took, but, I saw Tripods left behind! 😢
Nicely written. "It's the lake!" I actually got a little bit of goosebumps there. Nicely done, Steve.
Scary is the fact that even with cars they wouldn't have been able to outrun the flood😮
@samanthawright9589 they are far enough away from the lake and dam that it gives them time to do so.
@@RebeccaTaylorTillerywater travels faster then u think
@patrickmartin4327 oh, I know water travels fast. I had to take several physics classes in college. But what I meant was that if you look at how far the dam is from the subdivision, they had just enough time to get on the ark. No, they probably wouldn't have been able to drive away in their cars. I was thinking about having time to get on the ark.
@@RebeccaTaylorTillery Don't lie, you didn't go to college.

I was getting that feeling of Deja vu
What I don't get is... Whyd everyone go to the deck? That clearly wasn't safer than below. People could've gone flying off especially when they hit that drop.

1:25 can we just appreciate the cops here recognising the immediate danger, the simplest and quickest way to get everyone to safety and being the last ones to board after making sure everyone got safely on board.
Dude, its a movie, its not real LOL
Yeah. Even if it was just a movie, it showed that they cared more about ensuring public safety above all else. The one part of the movie that I can truly appreciate.
"Can we just appreciate" Dude everyone did we all watched this movie years ago you don't need to point it out 😂

Yea she’s all of a sudden a lady when danger hits
The most unrealistic part of this scene is the implication that a member of Congress faces any sort of consequence for their corruption.
4:38 when you beg god to do something and he actually does it the absolute madman
He thought he was Moses 😅
Ironically, this was more like how the older Babylonian version of Noah's Arc went. In that one, Noah basically has a premonition of a flash flood, and has all the boats in his village lashed together beforehand, along with his neighbors and their best livestock. The water comes and wipes out the village, but the villagers are able to rebuild because they all survive.
Not the Babylonian, perhaps other, Indian?
@ They've found multiple written versions of it, so it was pretty wide spread and likely happened in that capacity. Then add 1000 years of people playing telephone and suddenly you have a guy taking two of every animal on a boat.
@@robertgronewold3326
Now that makes more sense.
The definition of animal is very broad. It’s hard to imagine Noah travelling around the world collecting invertebrates and insects. The sheer biomass involved would overwhelm the ship building technology of the time.
@@meofnz2320 Yeah, the story basically got bigger and bigger as the centuries went by. The older one very much feels like an event that likely happened somewhere in the Middle East.
How is this the first time I'm hearing this version!!!
I don't care what anyone says. That "Wolves" quip by Evan was clever.
Honestly, if I were a politician, I'd be more afraid of political wolves than the real-life ones.

Nice touch at 3:25 on the license plate : Genesi 6,14 - So make yourself an ark of cypress wood; make rooms in it and coat it with pitch inside and out.
One thing about this ark that conforms to the Genesis story is that the ark had not controls. You couldn't steer it or sail it. God was the one in control.

There are a load of brainless people about that think that some old bloke called Noah did actually build a boat big enough to house 2 of every single animal in the world, forgetting that the Bible is just a story book
Man, Steve Carrell made some great movies ... and this one.
Yeah, this is a bad one. It’s basically because he had a minor part in Bruce Almighty, and then got popular after The Office, Anchor Man, and 40 Year Old Virgin, so someone had the bright idea to write a crappy sequel.
