I found the Holland thing so sad. He was just a lost soul who wanted to find some kind of beauty in his life, because he never had any beauty or love. He wasn't a bad person, just messed up. Sad thing is he was probably better off dead because who would want to spend the rest of their life in that prison.

I think the reason why this was so hurtful to me was because Haywire’s mind was like a kid’s mind. Pure, innocent. He just wanted to go to holland and live there peacefully. That was his lovely and simple dream.
And then Alex lead him to suicide. That part when Haywire looks at alex, before jumping, like he’s asking for approval, shows that he was not absolutely certain that it was the right thing to do, and then alex is like “yeah yeah do it” and it’s so heartbreaking to see. Such a strong scene .

This is the most underrated death scene in prison break. I genuinely believe that Haywire was a good person, but due to his mental state he just couldn't recognize the limits. He cared for other people in a way that isn't really there for any other Prison Break charecters.

I looked at his death as a symbol of freedom. Rejected by society, misunderstood and unfortunately incapable of enjoying normal life because he would either be a forever running wanted fugitive or in prison trapped. This was a good ending

What Mahone did was actually a mercy when you think about it. He really didn't wanna kill Haywire himself which would have probably of been a messy struggle kind of death so instead he led him to kill himself. A much more merciful death.

Haywire, oh Haywire...The saddest character in the whole series, left on his own by all the others once they made their prison break, he just wanted some tranquillity in his life and would have found it in his utopian ideal of Holland, I hope he made it and is there now in another time frame.

    Spoilers:
You can see this moment meant alot for alex as he could sympathise for haywire. They both just wanted to be left alone and go some place nice and mahone felt bad for him. We do see more of Haywire when mahone starts having withdrawls and sees Haywire as a hallucination warning him about micheals plan to ditch him. I found that quite clever as micheal also betrayed Haywire even though he helped out most out of all the convicts besides maybe sucre.

Fun fact, this scene was entirely improvised by the Haywire actor. He forgot his lines and didn't really want to continue with the series either, he wasn't really interested in shooting scenes in Holland. So he decided to just throw himself off that platform, he thought it'd be a fitting end to the character too.
Really dedicated to the part tbh. RIP. A true artist.

Reminds me of Of Mice and Men, with Lenny as a character. People stuck with the mentality of children, and even just innocent kids, always hits me hard in the feels. Because that pure innocence getting broken by the cruel reality always brings you back to that point when you wish you could go back to being that kid, but you know you can't anymore.
