This might be the first time I have ever heard a story about someone promising something to their dying relative, and _not_ fulfilling that promise, even though I am certain it happens at least as often as fulfilling it. Respect to Chael for being open and honest about it.
Chael doesn't give himself the credit but he actually should of been a champ in the WEC when he beat Paulo Filho. Paulo missed weight so Chael wasn't able to win the belt in the fight, but he won. He is a champ in my mind after that win.

Mma is such a brutal sport, even if you win you have to live with the damage you’ve caused to the other person. You could knock them out and they might never be the same again. But that’s why we love it, the stakes are as high as they can be you can’t help but feel emotional
I miss my dad too bro...the last interaction with my dad was when he was in ICU and i was 11 years old and i looked at him through the window and he somehow knew i was there and he was in critical condition but he still got up and did a sign that "you don't cry" and that was the last time i saw my father bro i miss him he was one of the best fathers to ever exist.

This game is a fickle and cruel mistress, but I believe that is why we all watch and love it so much.
