Okay, this will sound crazy, but I lost my job in June & luckily just started a new job 2wks ago. It's 100% remote 🎉 & supposed to be a 6mo contract working on a specific project but we've made a lot of progress in 2wks & ive been thinking it might not last that long 😢 I really love my new boss & the work I'm doing & he appreciates my skills. Last night I listened to this guided meditation for the first time & my thoughts when falling asleep were along the lines of "I want to be hired onto this company & work for my boss with a salary amount that I know I'm worth". And today, at the end of our meeting he started asking me what my career goals were & if I preferred being a contractor & I said No, that I was definitely open to everything & really liked working with him & the work i was doing, so fingers crossed, something positive will develop. I will keep listening to this for sure!

It's a subconscious message that many listen to as they fall asleep to "re-wire" the brain in the theta state of brain activity. This would mean that technically, the message that an individuals brain must hear is a message about one's own self. Hence, you'll find that nearly all guided sleep meditations are recorded in first-person. It is most beneficial to the listener if the brain is absorbing messages that it perceives as coming from the listener. When the brain enters theta state, which ideally it should during any meditation session, it does not differentiate between tone of voice. However, it can decipher verbiage. The brain still recognizes language. So, if it is receiving information about "you," then your mind perceives you to be processing information about someone else, but if it is receiving information about "I", then it recognizes information to be processed about the self.
