most boss fights(in SMM2)give you infinite lives to make it harder, place a limited amount of power-ups on tracks or just on the floor it will be more challenging and fun(for most gamers)
Alternatively, one of my favorite tricks is to have technically infinite power-ups locked behind some type of mini platforming challenge. For example, in one of my Link boss fights, the fountain is behind a rotating ring of saw blade (similar to a boo ring,) forcing the player to survive until it's open. Another has two cannons aimed at the fountain, making you hop on top of the cannon balls in a small space to reach the Master Sword. Basically, you can have all the power-ups you want, but getting to them requires you to put in a bit of effort. Also, the winged Master Swords are another good choice for this, as they take a bit of time to respawn after they fly away.
"A Stabby Ground Pound." It's more like a Down Thrust. In Zelda 2, you learn the Down Thrust (not going to tell you who, not going to tell you where). I can predict that one person is going to make those naked pipes, just for hilarious sake. Seriously, pipes, put some clothes on. Mario gamers know it's not family friendly. Besides those, I am probably going to use one of those. However, I am going to make my own. Probably some of them at the same time.

Damn, that was tough. Took me way longer than it should have to realize that you needed to make Jr hit the switches. I kept trying to fight him directly on the ground, but his ground pound just kept stunning me, leaving me to get crushed by the balls.
@@Arrowstotle Funny enough, I'm currently working on a level that relates both to this and the topic of the video. Did you know that Link's shield can reflect the winged lava bubbles, causing them to change direction when they're blocked to the direction Link is facing? With some clever use of slopes, you can make some pretty interesting puzzles and challenges with this mechanic. For example, the first part of the level I designed is what's going to be the final boss. Bowser is behind a wall, and while there's a hole to allow lava bubbles to pass through at the bottom since they travel in a straight line, a bumper prevents Link from passing through, and the gap is too large for him to hit Bowser with his arrows or bombs. To kill Bowser, you have to redirect one of the fire balls into the hole, where it would hit a slope and be redirected upward and then melt the frozen coins underneath a cannon, dropping the cannon on Bowser's head.
I have a idea. If your wondering i havent made a level about it I just thought about it So basically there are 2 pipes on the left and right with winged goombas and there is a giant goomba and there is also a firebar in the middle of the floor and to defeat the big goomba you need to aim at a pow block however there is a track with the music block on it so its harder to aim. What do you think of it?

My own design for a boss: Ludwig with a red canon on his head, it aims upwards which makes it so that you can't really hit him by jumping on his head. Instead, you need to use a Lakitu which throws spike balls at you and aim them at Ludwig.
Maybe for the bowser fight with the bombs (where you use the ON/OFF blocks to make you switch sides to attack bowser) you can make him drop into a clown car and continue the fight?

I've been using scaling difficulty lemmy battles with arrow only on off switches to kill the lemmies.... as my side levels on my normal mario world maps.. the first half of the link levels are puzzle or skill tests and then the boss screen

The way we had it set up makes it so right when you come through the door, you are already standing on a blue platform. It slowly falls and you never technically leave the ground! Try it out!
I love his channel! I mostly get my ideas from playing tons of different levels, many of them from viewers on twitch. Other ideas I come up with based on inspiration from courses that I think I can add my own spin to.
Dude please help me, I need advice so badly. I'm new to this, I bought my Switch, when the Update 2 came out, only made 3 levels so far, I got stuck on the fourth level, because I cannot make it happen in a technical sense. My idea is a wild west train heist, where you start on a slightly faster platform to catch up to a train (something that moves, ANYTHING), then access the train, collect coins, then jump off from time to time, back to your "horse", when the train goes through a tunnel or other hazards occur. I tried SO MANY thing, vertical, switching roles, on/off switches, trying every object to be the train, nothing works or has downsides :-(
You can always use bullet blasters on conveyor belts and have them shoot coins instead of bullet bills. You can also use platforms on tracks that drop off of one track and onto the next. Hope this helps!
@@Arrowstotle The coin idea is good, I have it so, that all red bullet blasters shoot POW blocks and the black/blue one shoots coins, but you have to remove POW blocks around it, to get the coins. But I can only set the goal to get 20 coins. It's a lot better than before, but it still needs a lot of work. I followed you on Twitch, maybe I can show you a "proof of concept", when you're on ^^
I made a level with link where it’s a night time ghost house with a max length seesaw going up and a large boom boom with you on the see saw with obstacles on the way up and pipes shooting out spike balls and master swords and banzai bills coming down and if you don’t beat the boom boom you get to restart
But on my level I forgot to make the boom boom big on the one that I uploaded and deleted the other one by accident but I can still give the code if you want to play it
