Any advice on the outdoor camera battery life? I have to recharge it every few weeks. Not really sustainable. For this reason, I would not recommend these cameras be installed in a location you can't frequently and easily reach to recharge.
Are you saying that all of my 7-8 cameras that are mounted in the roofline soffit has to be taken down every couple of weeks to recharge?? that's a bummer to buying outside cameras.
I haven't heard anything about whether I have to buy the hub or whether I can use my AT&T wireless modem/router to tag into it as power. And, there's not a mention about whether I have to use my phone or can I use my TV to monitor. Thirdly, there's no mention about whether there's a monthly charge with Blue like the ADT plan or that because I'm self-monitoring and that I'm buying it outright - that I have to have a plan at all?
I spoke to a representative today. You can buy the equipment out right. In which case there is no contract and you only pay the monthly monitoring fee. Or you can lease the equipment with a three-year contract. The cost of the lease depends on the equipment you choose.
Thank you so much for this and your other videos. I'm looking for some kind of self monitored security system and have found your videos helpful. I've narrowed it down to this and Eufy and that's largely because of you.
IRONIC-GETTING ROBBED BY AN ALARM COMPANY. Don't do it. I am stuck in a 36-month contract for a service I decided I don't want and never even activated. I tested the equipment and it was crap. Kept going in and out, yikes what a liability. You are still stuck with it, like a car payment. To cancel, I will have to pay $800. The cheap equipment they mailed is not even worth $200. DO NOT SIGN THE CONTRACT.
Do you know if you can have a sensor (say garage motion detector) only active in Night mode, and bypassed in all other modes including Away? (That way you don't have to run inside to disarm the system when driving into the garage). Thanks for the great review.
That's a great question, here is a link to one of articles with a full review on the system www.security.org/home-security-systems/adt/review/blue/ we hope it helps.
i recently got this, with that said, i wanted to open my windows at night, but arm my system is that possible? and if so how do i do that without setting off my alarm
Great review, and it covered almost every question I had. The only other question is if multiple people can be registered, so that alerts can go to my wife and myself? I presume it can, as your section on the alerts had your name, and I presume there could be others added, and their names would show up, correct?

does the chime happen only when it’s not on away? or is it the alarm ? I imagine that if the door/window is opened then a alarm would go off but all the videos i’ve seen only show the chime
I installed my adt cameras and didn't notice where they said theirs chemicals that can cause cancer and other stuff like that to wash hands after handling, does anyone know how serious that is or if it's a big deal at all?
Great review bro. You hit every point. I ordered my ADT system earlier today. I can’t wait to receive it in two days. How long does the batteries for the cameras last?
@@SecurityDotOrg well we have adt and the battery has only lasted most of the day before the battery died. I've been having a lot of problems with the sensors too saying a window/door is open when it isn't and it's all hooked up right.
This system got the worse reviews ever. But seems to be pretty good for what I need. Have this system and seems pretty easy. Provided you know how to read the instructions. People have bashed this company and systems so bad I was like wow should have read those first. But you clearly clarified a lot. And the cameras seem to have good quality pictures. Ty for your time.
Well I bought my system over the phone from ADT and now see I was taking for a ride. They had me sign a three year contract. I was sold the hub and separate keypad? Two outdoor cameras that I was told were solar with a battery back up and of course they are just battery and two door sensors. The monthly fee is about $50.00. Fortunately I just received this yesterday and will have it on it's way back and cancelled tomorrow "Monday.". Watch for sharks if you ask for assistance. I told the salesman I am a senior citizen and on a very fixed income. Shame on him.
I HAVE BLUE BY ADT THEY F****** suck I’ve had to call several times because it doesn’t work as it’s suppose to. The chime on the door sensor doesn’t go off half the time, I’ve walked in my house with the alarm set at AWAY and nothing happened. I read reviews and they all suck, please use caution when purchasing this product. There’s also a contract with this, I’m in the process of leaving them now.
Just seem like I'm more expensive version of ring alarm with higher monthly fees ring alarms on your $10 a month for cameras and monitoring and the camera look a lot worse from the outside
I just think the cameras don’t look very nice and subscription fee is too high for a basic 1080p camera It’s hard to beat the $50 ring indoor camera but
What type of service do you get with ring? Adt has 5 monitoring stations, 20,000 employees and A+ in BBB. You get what you pay for with security. Adt #1 security company 45 years in a row. Ring?

@@jaredsalem5837 what he’s talking about is that with Ring, they only have two monitoring centers. One in Rochester NY and the another in CA. Rapid Response is the company who responds. The problem is, if the NY center has to shut down they only have one back up center. Also Ring’s software was co-developed by ADT and Ring basically took it. Long story shortened, ADT helped (and gave 30 million dollars) to a company called Zonoff to develop what was to be their new “Pulse”. So when that company went bankrupt (due to Alarm.com suing them) all their employees was literally hired by Ring and the Zonoff CEO took the software ADT helped develop to Ring. Worst system and customer service. We had it for a week and they never could activate the security system for us…. I’ve spent 5-10 hours accumulated on the phone with them to never solve our issues. The outdoor camera never loads and just buffers and it’s recording is spotty. Stood in front and waved at it and it didn’t pick it up and my face recognition isn’t on…. Wouldn’t recommend in the slightest. Hopefully we can get out of this contract cause they said we can get out within 30 days!!
Nothing positive about Blue ADT. Nothing. Check out their reviews. I just returned the cameras etc. I had ADT come to my house yesterday. A professional technician. Love the system. But not Blue. But the gentleman did a good job on the video.

Why does your indoor camera is telling me that battery is 0% and battery is dead? Mind you the camera is plugged into the electrical outlet tha works.
I like the rules option I think is very interested and usefull. Does it work with google assistance!?

Doorbell doesn't require hardwire. It has a battery pack.
This key pad does remind me of the Nest Secure.
Yes, a little bit.
I wonder if Google had a hand in its design. I know the partnership was announced last year, but it may have been in the works for a while.

I thought you already did this system?
We did, but now, they’ve come out with a lot more security and environmental protection for our home, so we wanted to provide an updated video!
Will this work with my old inside Adt cameras I used with adt pulse ?
No not at all the only camera from pulse that wolud work with it is the white oc835 outdoor camera that works with it

Can you live view your camera while at work without the Pro Monitoring subscription?
Yes I have it
@@26kbun16 how do you do it
Can I use my existing ADT wireless sensors, with my new Blue by ADT system?
You'd have to contact ADT to find out. That is a bit too technical.
they answered on their FAQ. the answer is NO.
Does the hub give off alerts? And if so, does that work without the monitoring?
Hi Rachel, yes. And yes!
Anyone know if blue would work with a Honeywell skybell?
You may want to look into an IFTTT Integration with Blue by ADT to see if the Honeywell Skybell can connect.
I wonder if the Samsung smartthings adt water senor, smoke and Carbon monoxide would pair with this hub?
Nope. All have to be ADT Blue sensors. That SmartThings system is also at End of Life.
Can they see inside your house with the indoor camera?
Who is the "they" in this situation in relation to you?
Is this works with google home ? Is there any alert in the base when some sensor is opened? Thank you
It does work with google home, but not sure about the second question.
The hub beeps when a door or window is open.
Great review bro. You hit every point. I ordered my ADT system earlier today. I can’t wait to receive it in two days. How long does the batteries for the cameras last?
3 months.
Nope, there's 3 question points I additionally thought about that wasn't in the video.
@@SecurityDotOrg well we have adt and the battery has only lasted most of the day before the battery died. I've been having a lot of problems with the sensors too saying a window/door is open when it isn't and it's all hooked up right.
Basically, ADT Self Setup is now Blue by ADT's Successor. But with the integration of Google Nest Products.
Does the smart hub record audio?? Or only the cameras do?
Only the cameras!
I want to buy lorex cameras so I don't need theirs. Can I just buy the siren and some motion sensors?
No
U can buy the sensors and the keypad yes
Thank you so much
My pleasure Aaisha!
You can record anything in public in any state.
